In another thread last spring I listed Lee as a player who would surprise for the positive. His blocking prowess still isn't appreciated by posters here who rip Lee and place him alongside the likes of Taylor Whitley for outright ineptitude. Lee flat out mauls people but fans don't watch the dirtywork in the trenches for the most part, even sophisticated fans like here.
Lee can still have a good career for the right team. We are prioritizing a different type of TE now, especially at the backup role. I doubt Lee can ever significantly improve his pass catching hands or instincts. He probably needs to put on 10-15 pounds of muscle and become even more of a dominant blocker, slotting with a team that needs that type. In the '70s it would have been simple to bulk Lee into a 270 pound tackle but you can't do that today.
