I apologize...

To everyone here that I did not listen to when they said we were in trouble this season. In my fandom I kept on viewing the team through the aqua and coral colored glasses, and drank the dang koolaid that kept me thinking there was reason for optimism.

I was hoping...praying...the Dolphins would be a relevant football team again. :(

At times I thought I was being objective, throwing out mild criticism here and there...team support here and there, but not nearly objective enough as I look back on it now. I pride myself on my knowledge of the game, and am absolutely embarassed by the fact that this team suckered me again. Fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice...well, you know the rest.

So...here I am eating my crow and offering my public mea culpa to those who saw the writing on the wall I so clearly ignored.

I hope some season soon we can all gather here every week only to discuss how dang good this team is, and what an awesome Super Bowl victory that was.

You know what did it right? I think that once Ross was on a plane flirting with Harbaugh publicly, doesn't land him and then gives Sparano an extension? What could we expect. This team has the talent to win at least 8 games I think if they are playing with confidence. But, how can the team believe in itself when the owner has given the coach no reason to believe in himself. We are all looking for reasons for losing, poor secondary, poor linebacking play, missed field goals, dropped touchdown passes, etc. but those are all fixable things. The real issue is that Sparano is coaching like a dead man walking, and it's hard to play for someone in that situation, someone who reeks of desperation, eventually it rubs off on the whole team. That's why we are screwed this season...

I right with the OP. I also thought the Dolphins would win at least 8 games, with Henne being the biggest liability. Well, it looks like the O-line and D have beat him out, because Henne, along with DT, are about the only bright spots I have seen this year (I also thought Jimmy Wilson performed admirably, except for the last play....). Watching Thomas's power running is great though, even with such a crappy line....

Wow, apologizing for being optimistic?

What has this board come to???

Not apologizing for being optimistic, but for not being objective enough to listen to those who may have seen this season's team for what they really seem to be.

Nothing wrong with being optimistic, unless it gets to the point where your optimism clouds reality.

What would be the purpose of being negative and thinking our team sucks before they played their first game. Its not like you can make any chages or trades for them???

Not trying to be negative, but the simple fact of the matter is there were glaring concerns that this team showed during pre-season, and I had simply chose to look past them and think all would be fine once the regular season started despite what many here had pointed out. That's it in a nutshell. Just frustrated with myself for getting sucked in and drinking the koolaid and not being objective enough.

It took people until the end of week 3 of the 2011 - 2012 season to figure this out? Life time Dolphins fan from 1986 through 2009. I've been saying it for 2 years now our coach has the IQ of a squirrel nut. He cheers like the proud mother of the kicker every time Carpenter makes a field goal. Our QB... I don't even want to go there. The owner is clueless... Whats else did u need to know going into this season?

All good bro... The truth is, there is no 'us and them' mentality... WE ARE ALL Phins fans... even the most staunch critic was never PRAYING for the demise of the franchise... Seriously we should all be united in the fact that each of us has to face our Jets, Bills, Cowboys and Pats friends at the Sunday BBQ... :bobdole:

I have been a naysayer for a couple years now.. And an Ireland hater for at least that time if not more... But even I got hoodwinked at how far things have fallen... Honestly I cannot believe how bad that OL is... And Hoops said earlier exactly what I was thinking watching that Cleveland game... Henne is gonna get killed behind that group and then what???? Seriously... and then what?

Truly the only upside is for the bottom to fall out... Clean house and start again... The reality is the absolute WORST thing that can happen is to stay middle of the pack where EVERY decision is critical and keep these clowns who don't know their a$$ from their elbow.

Sorry but with your name as it is, I cannot take your post seriously with the QB comment. Chad Henne has played much better than most would have guessed. You also cannot just look at him losing the games. The O-line this year has been horrendous. The running game almost non existent (Thomas has played well, but Bush where has he gone?). You can't just look at the redzone inefficiency and blame Henne. And with a name like HenneBlows, I sure can't take your opinion on him with anything but a grain of salt. Miami, please finally piece everything together and play as a unified team. A great defense, a great offense, and a great special teams. I want to see a team that doesn't disappoint, but finally comes out and plays the way they are expected to play, and finally win games.
