1) His ties run deeper with Saban
2) He's already an Assistant HC here and if he is promoted as such, going to St. Louis would be a parallel switch...
3) Going to St. Louis would surely result in a paycut
4) He already has the building blocks in place to continue the offense in Miami

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I thought Bagget came from the vikings with Linehan. So you mean his ties run deeper with LINEHAN, right?

No, I mean Saban...

Baggett is a veteran of eight seasons as an NFL assistant coach, including the last five as wide receivers coach with the Minnesota Vikings where he helped put together one of the most potent offenses in the NFL over this stretch, along with current Dolphins offensive coordinator Scott Linehan. This will be his second stint working under Saban, as he was the wide receivers/associate head coach on Saban’s Michigan State staff from 1995-98. He also worked on the same staff as Saban at Michigan State from 1983-87.

Dolphins | Baggett possible candidate for offensive coordinator
Wed, 18 Jan 2006 20:28:49 -0800

Jeff Darlington, of the Palm Beach Post, reports Miami Dolphins wide receivers coach Charlie Baggett is a potential candidate to take over as offensive coordinator for the team. Current offensive coordinator Scott Linehan is expected to be named the St. Louis Rams head coach this week.

And Baggett got one of his first breaks from George Perles, Saban's mentor

I dont know how it works, but can the dolphins offer a new contract or something like that to make him stay?

KEY WORD - " POTENTIAL".

well that explains the linehan ties as well. Give the man a promotion and a raise big enough to keep him here.

5.. He has a better chance at success with Saban and the Fins hands off owner who has deep pockets than with inexperienced Linehan and a meddling owner like Georgia Frontiere.Dont you think that Scotts cheap pricetag had something to do with his selection ?

What makes him so good and more qualified as OC than other out there. If he wants to go let him go, big deal.

St Louis will not win next year....Dolphins may win next year , but either way, Charlie has some good options to work with.
