Hickey got us 2 gems it seems in last years draft....James will probably a 8-10 year starter it seems, Landry is getting better each week and man that endzone catch was beautiful

he also signed Albert,Moreno,Finnegan,Delmas(pretty okay).

traded away bum Martin for a 7th round pick *he made the niners team*

I kind of want him to stay but i am torn

They both stay or neither

I think Hickey will survive at least until Ross has a chance to make a play for Harbaugh. If we get Harbaugh, then it will be up to Harbaugh to decide if he wants Hickey to remain in the GM role. If we can't sign Harbaugh, Ross and Hickey will hire a coach together and we'll continue flipping and flopping GMs and head coaches in order to maintain our superior mediocrity.

if you fire phibin no matter what don't tie the next coach to Hickey or let Hickey make the hire. I have no problem if the new coach wants to work with him.

hickey is fine in my book. I just think the staff needs to be let go and let Hickey make the hire or let something happen besides Philbin being t he coach. It's been a trainwreck

If Philbin gets axed and Hickey stays the sentiment on the board will be "more half measures, same ol fins". I can see it now...

In a way it is a half measure if we have to hire a coach based on wanting to work with Hickey.

I'm ok with Hickey, but not if it costs us a good coach. I just hope next time we hire a head coach who knows how to manage a game.

Hickey seems to have put together a team with a lot of talent to succeed... Our coaches don't know what to do with that talent

Hickey needs to go with him. We can't risk another half assed rebuild based only on Hickey's work so far. This draft class could easily crumble into **** just as Ireland's much lauded 2008 draft class did.

Hickey also doesn't seem like the "big dog" type. He seems like a guy who works well as part of a team, but he isn't the leader. He is clearly 2nd in command to Philbin right now. I wouldn't be comfortable with him in charge of everything.

If we get a guy like Harbaugh and he is comfortable working with Hickey I have no trouble keeping him, but keeping Hickey SHOULD NOT be a sticking point in negotiations. If the Dolphins offer the job to a top candidate and they don't want Hickey, he should be booted out of the Davie offices immediately.

So far I like Hickey, and I don't subscribe to the idea that you need to get rid of everyone to make a coaching change. If you have talented people on your staff, from GM to scouts to trainers, you keep them. Let the coaches coach, and the GM/Scouts find the players. I dont see how coaching coincides with the scouting/acquisition functions.

Sucks because I agree he had a very nice draft (at least from what we can tell 5 games in). That said, no half-rebuilds. If you bring in a HC that WANTS to keep him as their GM then great. But he should in no way be part of the hiring process like we let Ireland be. If Harbaugh or Gus or a top HC wants his own GM then Hickey goes. The new HC gets whatever he wants.
