I blame Brandon Marshall

The guy is 6'4" and 230 lbs. He's not the quickest, most nimble guy out there. If you look at the play, the way he was running his route, and where the ball was placed it would have been extremely hard to keep his entire body from going out of bounds. In short, he lost his balance.

He lost his balance because he was looking back at the DB and not looking where he was going and making a bee line to the end zone. It caused him to drift closer to the side line. He wanted to see the DB chasing him.

Also, Brandon Marshall isn't calling the plays. And he didn't 'drop' anything, the pass was deflected by the best corner in football. ALSO, he didn't run out of bounds intentionally, dude was off-balance. It happens and I'm sure he's disappointed in himself, but the dude is a freaking warrior. Did anyone see how hard he stiff armed Revis into the dirt on his first catch? That was fierce man.

The thought of this receiving core without Brandon Marshall is scary. The thought of having our potential franchise quarterback next year going into the season with Hartline, Bess, and Clyde 'Igotlikeonecatch' Gates, as our receiving core? Give me a break. You don't trade 2 second rounders for a guy, and then re-trade him for lesser value.

He did drop the slant though. I would love to defend him, but he needs to start making these catches in the end zone. Revis made a play on one, but the slant even though it was behind him should have been caught and he should have been able to stay in bounds for another TD.

fair enough

This B Marsh hate is idiotic. Not gonna argue back and forth with nonsense viewpoints, but rest assured it's asinine.

Im not gonna sit here and say we lost because of BM, because thats retarded. He really has not been playing well though. Definitely not playing at the level he is capable of.

For sure, but I don't think that will last. Dude did go over 100 yesterday, 5 for 66 against revis; so if you're going for over 100 and the fans are still blaming you, then maybe he should take that as a compliment.

I think people have been far too hasty heaping blame on Marshall. You have to consider that part of that might be Quarterback related. Three straight years of 100+ catches with Cutler and Orton and a fourth of 86 with combination Henne, Penne, & Thigpen. So is he regressing? Maybe it is partially quarterback related, and maybe he's having a stretch of drops like all receivers go through at times. I certainly don't think he's a bad receiver all of the sudden, and definitely wouldn't want to trade the guy.

Keeping this baby "happy" cost us another game

This statement I took particular umbrage to. Think of Brandon Marshall as a chess piece. This chess piece has certain moves and abilities; Now, is it the pieces fault if the piece-master isn't using him correctly? No, that's on the coaches. If you don't like that we're passing more often in the redzone than you think we should, doesn't somehow make that Marshall's fault. That's on Daboll.

Yeah it was Marshal's Fault He got pass interfered and got a no call..YES,he did drop another TD,but what did ANY other WR do?.Hartline was dropping EASY passes,Bess was MIA..Marshalls 100+ yards was definitely the reason we lost! and Not our D not getting ANY pressure on Sanchez.

Marshall was not pass interfered. Watch the tape carefully, Marshall had lost his balance and was falling on his face. Revis slightly grabbed him to keep Marshall from also knocking him down. It looked like a poor block.

Brandon Marshall caused the Revis interception so did that help our defense? Each time we ran the ball down to the redzone and then starting throwing stupid passes and then had to kick another FG, did that help our defense?

And FUXK Marshall's 100 yards. IT'S NOT ABOUT THE FREAKING YARDS, YARDS DO NOT COUNT. TOUCHDOWNS COUNT.

I would have rather had D Thomas RUN for a 100 yards.

The whole point is that our offensive game plan was to FORCE THE FOOTBALL AGAINST THE BEST CORNER IN THE NFL.

Instead of running a normal offense against a team that has problems against the run, we throw 11-12 passes to a WR with mental problems being covered by the best corner in football.

How many other teams go into facing the Jets and say "the first thing we have to do is attack Revis 12-15 times". "Good call Bob, the only way to beat the Jets is to attack Revis over and over and over. And O yea, let's make sure that Revis KNOWS 10 days ahead of time what our game plan is".

3rd and 3 is not a passing down for us. 2nd and goal is not a passing down for us. 3rd and goal is not a passing down for us.

The Jets are having problems against the run but they still have 3 very good corners so we....run 25 times and throw 34. We ran the ball well but on almost every short yardage play we passed and missed.

Why did we throw to Marshall, a WR who has not being playing well, 12-14 times?

Because he was being a "monster" Diva and demanded it!

he was laughing near the end of game, that right there shows me he does not care about winning trade him now.

Yea. Marshall just put up 100 yards on one of the best CB's to ever play the game, in his prime. Definately the reason we lost imo. Not the defense collapsing. Not Matt Moore being apparently racist against progressions and just generally blowing.

i blame you for starting another thread on the exact same topic just to get yourself attention.

note: please respond to this post in my newer brandon marshall thread !!!!!!!!!!!!

Another one who apparently didn't watch the game. Who was covering Brandon Marshall when he caught the long pass, that he stumbled out of bounds like a drunken fool? It wasn't Revis, it was Cromartie. So tell me how many yards he got against Revis now? Oh, and Ted Ginn burned Revis for several td's, so i guess he is better than Marshall.

Marshall is 6'5" 230# Revis is 5'11" 195# And Revis threw him off his route for his pick 6. The ref's made several bad/missed calls (like the block in the back on Jones) for # 10's TD. Say what you want but Marshall has the chance to make a difference in the game and fails. He had 3-4 opportunity's to score, and Revis makes 2 plays, Cromartie makes a play, and Marshall runs out of bounds. OK, by default he is the #1 receiver on not just this team but many, Yet he fails to be THE difference. We spent 2-2nd round choices on this guy for more than 3 first downs a game. He makes 1 TD early and it's a different game. When we settle for 2 FG's early the Jests knew they had us... we had nothing for them. Defend him if you want, but those that do are just fools. If the Defense did not have to play 3/4's of every game behind by 10 they might make a stop, like they did the first 4 drives. I should have been 14-0 Phish before the Jests ever got a first down.

Okay what did the other Wr's do last night. Marshall dropped some balls but we got nothing out of the other Wr's. Marshall's drops can be corrected. The play calling sucks as usual. Matt Moore missed open wr's. That play were people said Marshall should of jumped. He was running open for about 10yds before the pass was thrown. Marshall didn't lose the game for us

Yea. Marshall just put up 100 yards on one of the best CB's to ever play the game, in his prime. He could have 200 yards and it would not matter. D Revis was the ONLY player to score off a pass to B Marshall. Definately the reason we lost imo. He was one HUGE reason we lost. Not the defense collapsing. Our defense did not collapse, it was worn out by the fact that we kept TRYING to ATTEMPT to pass the ball. Not Matt Moore being apparently racist against progressions (No freaking Idea what you are talking about) and just generally blowing.

We run the ball well
The Jets can't stop the run.
We lost our starting QB
So our "game plan" is to throw to Brandon Marshall 40% of the time and on every big down.

We threw to the ball to Marshall in the endzone because because it was a personal thing for B Marshall.

We forced it over and over until Marshall tripped over his own feet and ALLOWED A 100 YARD INTERCEPTION FOR A TOUCHDOWN. B Marshall helped in scoring one touchdown, a touchdown for the jets.

What was the score of the game when that happened? It was 3-0 with us about to score again. Now you tell me when you think the game was lost for us.

The Jets were shooting themselves in the foot all night, we charged them up and got them excited.

Here is our offensive gameplan.

We stop the Jets and make them go 3 and out.

at 12.01 in the 1st Qtr.

3-1-NYJ 41 (12:01) 75-N.Garner reported in as eligible. 8-M.Moore pass incomplete short left to 10-E.Gates. (3rd and 1 and we "attempt" a pass to Gates being covered by Revis?)

We stop the Jets again, 3 and out.

We drive to the Jet's 10 yard line.

  • 1-10-NYJ 10 (8:24) 33-D.Thomas left guard to NYJ 5 for 5 yards (97-C.Pace). (good, keep running)
  • 2-5-NYJ 5 (7:43) 8-M.Moore pass incomplete short left to 80-A.Fasano [55-J.Westerman](WTF?).
  • 3-5-NYJ 5 (7:36) 8-M.Moore pass incomplete short left to 19-B.Marshall (24-D.Revis) (OMG WTF?).
  • 4-5-NYJ 5 (7:33) 5-D.Carpenter 23 yard field goal is GOOD, Center-92-J.Denney, Holder-2-B.Fields.
Another wasted trip in the redzone. Our Defense is playing well, but our offense is afraid to run the ball. This is not new, within the 5 yard line this season, we have "attempted" a pass almost as twice as often as we have ran. (guess how many TDs we have passing in the redzone?)

BUT, OMG, the Jets muff a kick off return, we are going to really put it on them!

  • 5-D.Carpenter kicks 58 yards from MIA 35 to NYJ 7. 50-G.McIntyre MUFFS catch, RECOVERED by MIA-53-A.Spitler at NYJ 18. 53-A.Spitler to NYJ 18 for no gain (50-G.McIntyre).
  • 1-10-NYJ 18 (7:23) 75-N.Garner reported in as eligible. 33-D.Thomas up the middle to NYJ 15 for 3 yards (36-J.Leonhard).
  • 2-7-NYJ 15 (6:52) 33-D.Thomas up the middle to NYJ 15 for no gain (52-D.Harris).
  • 3-7-NYJ 15 (6:11) 8-M.Moore pass short left intended for 19-B.Marshall INTERCEPTED by 24-D.Revis at NYJ 0. 24-D.Revis for 100 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

  1. 2nd Quarter
    • Miami Dolphins continues ...
    • 1-4-NYJ 4 (15:00) 33-D.Thomas left tackle to NYJ 1 for 3 yards (94-M.Dixon).
    • 2-1-NYJ 1 (14:16) 75-N.Garner reported in as eligible. 33-D.Thomas left tackle to NYJ 3 for -2 yards (93-K.Ellis; 95-M.Tevaseu).
    • 0-0- Timeout #2 by MIA at 13:38.
    • 3-3-NYJ 3 (13:38) 8-M.Moore pass incomplete short left to 19-B.Marshall.
    • 4-3-NYJ 3 (13:38) 5-D.Carpenter 21 yard field goal is GOOD, Center-92-J.Denney, Holder-2-B.Fields.
  2. Another 3rd and 3 and we "attempt" a pass.
The score is now 6-7. Where is the problem again? Our defense?

Matt Moore was told to and forced 12 passes to
Brandon Marshall and only one touchdown was scored, by D Revis.

Three times in a row on 3rd and Goal we "attempted" to throw to Brandon Marhsall. All of them failed and the defense scored a TD on one of them.

Albert Einstein said that his definition of Insanity was doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

n the 1st half, we get within the Jets 7 yard line 3 times.

All three times we throw to B Marshall (BECAUSE OF THE COMMENTS HE MADE TO THE WORLD).

So 3 scoring chances and we end up with -1 point.

Because we had to throw the ball to B Marshall.
