Look at what the Packers are doing right now. In 10 games this year they've only been held under 30 points four times, and we were one of those teams to keep them under. Rodgers is the best QB in the league, he's going to own the record books when he retires, he absolutely dominates when he is on, and I'd be shocked if he doesn't retire with at least one more ring... He has a pretty damn good shot to do it this year.
Be that as it may, my larger point is that when you play an elite QB like Rodgers, Peyton, Brady etc you cannot expect to win unless you score 30 points. With the way the rules are in today's NFL, these guys are just too good, and they will find a way to beat you if you settle for field goals in the red zone instead of scoring touchdowns. I put our loss to GB (and to a lesser extent Detroit) much more on our lack of ability to convert TDs in the red zone, and our lack of ability to run clock and pick up first downs in the last 5 minutes of games than I do our defense.
All things considered this year, our defense has been fantastic. We've played some great QBs this year already, and we obviously have a couple more great ones upcoming on our schedule. I know that Denver looked beatable today, but if we want to win that game (and if we want to make the playoffs) we need to go into Denver and put up some real points while controlling the clock. Scoring in the low 20s isn't gonna cut it.
