I Don't Blame Ireland

I feel that Jeff deserves at least 2 more seasons after all he didn't even do anything while Parcells was here.

All sarcasm aside, I will wait until the season is over or the playoffs are impossible to level my criticism of Jeffery

Are you serious? Okay. QB, WR, TE, CB, FS, SS, RDE, LDE, DT, NT. The only position that is questionable is RB, and we KNOW the offensive line is worse off. The team, talent wise, is MUCH better as a group. That post was absurd.

Ahh you think the safety play is better this year than last????????? That's weird and the great PFF would disagree with that, not to mention with Wake out I fail to see how we improved at RDE with Wake missing a game (pretty much 2 counting Atlanta) and not being near 100% for 2 more. Maybe you consider Derrick Shelby an upgrade to Wake, not sure. and LDE, well Vernon and Odrick from last year have been a wash IMHO. Maybe factoring in Jordan we improved but he plays a limited amount of snaps and our edge setting has regressed (although improved over the last 3 weeks), DT and NT are the same guys, C'mon! WR yes that's about it but Wallace looks like a glorified Ted Ginn. Tannehill looks better at times to me and the same at others.

The mistake this organization made during Ireland's tenure was not drafting Matt Ryan, and we really don't know whether Jeff Ireland was responsible for that.

Had the team drafted Matt Ryan, you'd see a completely different product out there nowadays, and few people would be questioning Jeff Ireland's ability to put an overall team together. The quality of the QB play would be compensating for whatever personnel mistakes Ireland and others have made elsewhere, and the job he and they have done overall would appear to be very good.

He has put enough talent on the field to win games.

I think youre failing to consider he positioned himself for that big offseason where he finally got to make his moves and spend a ton of cap money and picks. He even hyped it up himself with that "picks and money" quote. He needs this team to produce a winning record/playoff berth this season. At the end of the day we just need to let the season play out and come to conclusions once we get the final record. If were looking at a losing record again, Ross can clean house for all i care because the only "stability" has been mediocre over the past few years. Again though, were 3-3 with more than half the season to go..... lets see how it plays out.

We stayed the same in some areas and over all those groups are playing worse...

One improved area WR

Three areas where we downgraded OL, RB, and LB

Looks like less talent to me....

I think the fact that people are debating whether we are any better than we were 5 years ago speaks volumes.
Yeah well, not having an adequate quarterback will do that, regardless of whatever improvements you've made elsewhere. Quarterback play is the limiting factor on the entire enterprise.

Ireland could actually have a track record much better than average with regard to acquiring talent at other positions, and without an adequate QB, we'd never know it from the performance of the team overall. The QB play would limit the play of the team to such an extent that it would be difficult to tell how good it was elsewhere.

Wow. Experience must play into nothing with you.

Yeah, I don't get it either. All the positions he mentioned basically have the SAME PEOPLE from last season.

Only WR (Wallace and Gibson) and CB (Grimes) have new guys and I don't count DE because of Jordan since the dude hardly plays at all either due to injury or the coaching staff not wanting to push him ....due to his shoulder...whatever the point is they treat him like he's made of glass.

TE... maybe the addition of Keller would've made a difference had he not gotten destroyed in the preseason because other than that, Sims has only been in to basically block and that's it. Clay was here last year too.

I don't see a 'more talented than last season' team either.

why cant people see this team for what it is......a 3-3 team and lucky to be that . nobody and I mean nobody , besides a few brainwashed dolphin fans , thought this was a playoff team before the season started ....... n.e lost almost their entire offence , but no one thought Miami could beat them out for the afc east ,

because you are wrong. This is a QB driven league and this team will win or lose based on RT's development. Did you even watch the Bills game before making such a foolish response? The Phins outplayed them and had they played error free would have won comfortably.
The game against the Colts was close and both teams made plays. The Phins won a hard fought game. How does that make them lucky? Ditto the game against the Falcons. You are an anti-homer who sees only the negative.
BTW, exactly who is brainwashing anybody? Only a solipsist could make such a foolish statement.

Which players will be headed to the probowl for us this year? Denny probably, Fields maybe, can't think of any more.

I'm pretty sure we'll be shut out of the top 100 on NFL network too.

We have 3 of the top 11 DTs in the league.

you making my point of a brainwashed , foolish fan .the dolphins had to pull out a last minute win against the awful browns and one could hardly say they dominated them .go ahead and name one ,just one, game the dolphins have wone dominating this year. every game have left you hoping they'ed win in the end somehow, hence get lucky .
