Saban has a hands off approach to the offense in the first place, and even with the 3rd and 2, if Gus had been able to execute then the game would have been tied.

I don't understand why the media and the fools on this board are calling for his head :shakeno:

As much as I see the disgust in the play call... I agree Gus needs to know to throw the ball away if no one is open. PERIOD. His play has been flat out horrible.

I'll agree with that.

I put blame on Gus and Linehan.

Gus doesn't execute is said weekly. Its nothing new. That is why Linehan takes blame as well as Gus.

Its one thing for a OC to put the ball in the hands of a good QB and that QB fails to execute, then you can defend the OC. 'hey, if Manning hit the WR or threw it away, it was a good call' because you can count on a manning, brady, etc to make a good throw more times than not.

However, you just can't count on Gus doing that, yet our OC insists that we keep using Gus in critical situations, EVEN WHEN THE RUNNING GAME IS WORKING!

Its like pounding your head into a brick wall, over and over. Hmm.. maybe Linehan has more in common with Gus than with first thought..

I'm on board! Gus Sucks! But Linehan isn't that great at calling plays either!

You're right, everytime something goes wrong in our eye's....we must blame someone. Pointing the finger at the guilty party is a need.

Sorry for the sarcasm, but I'm just sick of people acting like children everytime something happens that they don't like. Sheesh.

We as fans, and the media, should realize that finding blame after a loss is quite immature. While I wish the Dolphins to win, I realize they won't win every game. I have no delusions of playoffs this year. I merely expect them to grow from a 4-12 team they were.

Why isn't anyone blaming the defense either?

The pass defense was horrid and Reggie Howard was playing like...well...like Reggie Howard

because there is nothing they can do right now to aviod getting killed. We just dont have the players in the secondary to make it happen.

Our front seven stops them on 1st and 2nd down and then on 3rd and long the team picks up a first down with a long pass.

Our problems on offense could be avoided if we took the ball out of Gus' hands in critical situations.

did the coaching staff put their players in the best position to be successful......hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....no way, watch NFL network and they cover pretty well what went wrong with the play, OC at fault here even if Gus still sucks...

I don't think that you'll find anyone that thinks Gus is doing a good job, not even his own family. My problem in the last couple of games is the lack of deep pass attempts. These are plays that have had a legit shot of working if the passes woulda been there. Since we stopped airing it out, the O has gotten even more mundane. No need for these Ds to keep anyone back over 15 yards. Our running game would be even better if we take the 2-3 reverses and try to hit CC or even McMike (if a LB is on him) on a deep fly route. Even if incomplete there would be better reprocussions later on down the road. Go back to taking a chance or two each game. What do we got to lose?

I'm in patriots mode already... Blah blah balh.. let's cry about last week.. and cry that Sgae isn't starting! You know where Davie is? Thats where you'll Saban.. Go fill him in

Im not "calling for his head" but Linehan had his part in that loss. He chose to pass again on 3rd down knowing that Gus had been horrible at executing everything. In situations like that, you call on your playmakers which Ronnie certainly has been. I thought it was a no brainer to give Ronnie the rock with Barnes clearing the way.

I will disagree with this for the Falcons game.

Against the Falcons we did not do a good job on 1st and 2nd down. A reporter mentioned it in the post game that the falcons average 5 yards on 1st down.

Also there was a 92 yard TD drive the falcons face 2, count'em a total of 2, 3rd downs. And 1 of those 3rd downs was converted for a TD.
