I don't get it-Marshall gets 5 million a year to be a nickel back and...

We let Ben Grubbs sign in New Orleans for a mere 7 million a year. I'm confused. Someone help me out. Why are we giving Marshall who isn't going to be a starter, 5 million a year when we could of easily let Will Allen and Jimmy Wilson fight it out in camp. Ben Grubbs is one of the best guards in the league and all it would of taken to get him was only 7 million a year. That's cheap imo. I hope we weren't saving our money to piss it away on Flynn.
 
because we have one if not the worst GM in the league. nothing that he does makes sense nor is it worth trying to make any sense of anything he does.
 
Im starting so much not to care. Days into free agency we have signed Richard Marhsall, Artis Hicks and Jerome Westerman lol this is like a bad joke.
Not to mention we lost a pro bowl receiver
 
I think he will be a starter replacing twiting Smith

Lol everything I have read said Marshall is a good signing. Can play FS and nickel. Big hitter, young, good skills...yah what a crappy signing!lol

Or you see it this way: If we sign Flynn (i'm pretty sure), we have with Richard Marshall and the re-signing of Paul Soliai, getting 3 of the 35 best FAs after the list PFT. What is not bad in a 32-team-league:

Im not critical of the signing Im critical of the money, its not like he has kept a starting job or been that awesome. Good skills but hasnt really been an impact player for his nfl career.

I heard those same words when Earnest Wilford was signed a few years back.
 
You mean a nickel corner that will play 70% of snaps next year because of all the 3-4 receiver sets? Yeah that's just dumb. Give your head a shake. That is cheap. In this league you need 3 starting corners.
 
how can anyone say that a nickel corner is not a starter anymore? we played a 4-man front nickel package more than anything last year. most teams actually did. that's all assuming we're using Marshall as a nickel. he might end up being a starting FS as well. either way, he's going to play a lot
