But I want to feel the anxiety, the rush even the heartbreak of defeat this time of the year. It's been far too long for this orginazation to give us that feeling. I truly hope the direction of this team will put us in position to be apart of championship Sunday.

P.S go giants

With the way these conference championship games went any team in the league could win, sloppy play in the biggest moments. Im just happy S.F. and Baltimore showed you can still go far (and should be in the Super Bowl) with run-first, shut down defenses.

san fran with that defense should be in the superbowl right now if it were not for kyle williams. they totally shut down eli manning and the giants offense in the 2nd half. if not for kyle williams, the giants go scoreless in the 2nd half.

it would have been nice seeing 49ers ravens superbowl

Pretty sick of playing spectator. Would like to see what winning a real life playoff game looks like

no thanks...id rather win a few games in the 1st quarter like the patriots did to us this year...

I hear you phinfan08. I was thinking the same thing. As to others who blamed it all on kyle williams-not so fast- imo Alex Smith was poor. Look at the 3rd down coversions- also completions to a wide receiver. Poor ALSO. San Fran needs another QB

I don't think Smith was the problem at all. The 49ers do not have a receiver. Crabtree and Ginn are their top receivers. That is pathetic. If they pick up a few weapons at WR, they will be back next season.

It's been 20 years since playing in an AFC championship game....enough is enough. If Manning is healthy, we need to get him, I don't care if it's only 3 years. Trading up for RG3 would be exciting to. They need to do something bold. I could maybe be optimistic about Flynn, though worried he'd be Feely or Kolb.

Unfortunately I think SF's defense would have really shut down the Pat's, their defense is awesome, way better then Baltimore's. F.Gore is an explosive runner that has great cut skills, he would have gashed the Pat's defense.

I still think NYG's can potentially win but SF got screwed by a few mistakes by the same guy. And of course NE wins in their typical BS fashion. Am I the only one who thinks the L.Evans TD should have been reviewed, he caught it and with control turned and took a couple steps, then the defender stripped the ball. Then a 31 yard chip shot gets missed, brutal.

So.. who still thinks you dont need an elite QB to win a Superbowl?
no one thinks you do not need a good qb to win, but yesterdays game showed that great defense still can win in this league.

no qb in the giant game yesterday played at an elite level.it was both great defense, and special teams blunders on the 49ers.

You dont need an elite qb if we're looking at yesterdays games. Joe Flacco was a Lee Evans drop from beating the Patriots at New England and Alex smith was ready to just grind the clock down with an untochable 4 point lead the way there defense was crushing Eli if only his punt returner blew the whole game for them. I wonder if he's been cut yet btw.
