I know this is a highlight video, but damn if Davone isn't one of the best slot receivers in the game, I don't know who is.

In 2010, Bess was tied for 12th in the league with 79 receptions. He was 22nd in 2009 with 76 receptions. You never hear anyone talking about this guy. As a slot receiver he has had 155 catches in two years. This guy is incredible
 
without a doubt my favorite player on the team. bought an autographed jersey of his a few months back when he signed the extension. i find it hard to believe this guy was undrafted. gotta give parcells/ireland props for bess
 
Talented, and one of the coolest dudes out there. One of my fave Phins. Glad he will be here for awhile.

Bess > Welker

In a way u do but u have to question why they drafted other receivers or players over him. when it comes to undrafted guys there is a lot of luck involved when it comes to known players. One of the main reasons he signed here was because our receivers were not all that great. I mean it could have been great foresight or it could have been well Miami's receivers suck so i will sign there.
 
Has produced from day one . . . definitely one of the best slot WR's in the game. Lacks good speed but man is he quick and shifty. I think if Bess had Reggie Bush speed, he would consistently be mentioned as one of the top 10 WR's in the NFL. But I'll take our version at a discounted rate any day. Love this kids toughness and hunger . . . he should be even more of a factor this season with the added pieces and system change.

Bess and Welker are very comparable. Both undersized. Both grinders. Both give it their all on the field. Both shifty. Both came out of nowhere. However, I think Bess is more physically gifted. He is quicker.

The only reason Welker's stats exceed Bess' is because of the QB throwing him the ball. Bess would be a star in NE.
 
He is definitely one of the top slot receivers. I love the guy! But he doesn't get enough credit. For example (I know this is going to sad bad, but...) in Madden, they have his catching in traffic and spectacular catch in like the high 60's or 70's.

Um is the highlight of Bess making a TON of amazing, even one handed grabs (Titans game?). That's pretty spectacular. And if theres people nearby, he'll usually catch it.

However, they do give him credit with his hands and route running at 97 lol
 
I love Bess! Can you imagine how popular he would be if he had
Brady or Manning throwing to him?

if that part is true how come no other nfl receivers have caught 110 balls in a season three years in a row. I think now u are not giving enough credit to welker who has done some things nobody else ever has.
 
You know what impresses me the most about that video?

There were 44 pass plays total (yes, I counted). Bess went 17/19 in 3rd downs (17 first down conversions) with 3 TDs, and 19/25 (with another 2 TDs) in all the others. That means that (at least) in half of his catches he got a 1st down or a TD. Amazing.

Also: those two 3rd down grabs that didn't go for 1st downs? One was in 3rd and 19 (@MIN), the other in 3rd and 23 (@GB).

Simply amazing.

What other receivers have Tom Brady throwing to him in a system that is so slot-friendly?
 
I'm glad he's underrated.. he'll keep shredding up defenses like he does. He should do even better this year with Reggie and Clyde spacing out those defenses.

Well im sure they had slot receivers those prior years to Welker and none of them came close to his numbers . U cant just say Bess would have put up numbers of 110 catches a year because none of us know.
