Reading between the lines I don't think the Dolphins are in love with any of the 12 candidates apart from Pete Carroll. If Carroll wanted the job the Dolphins would have ended their search and made the big splash by hiring the big name.

I understand why the Giants gave Tom Coughlin another year, why make the move if there is nobody out there better to replace him? It's just making a move for the sake of making a move. The Dolphins had no choice and nobody on their short list excites me. Jim Mora just got canned after 2 mediocre seasons, when you talk about the best coaches in college football the name Chan Gailey doesn't come to mind, Brian Schottenheimer is the product of the New York hype machine. Eric Mangini isn't a genius he just looked like one because the Jets had an easy schedule and Chad Pennington was healthy for 16 games. Mike Tomlin isn't ready to be a head coach.

It's a shame Scott Linehan isn't available.

First off, the giants are keeping Coughlin around for one more year so they cna let him go guilt free next season and will be in perfect position to get Bill Cowher.

I agree with Jim Mora jr. and Chan Gailey. i also think Schottys getting more praise then he deserves.

But one of these guys will be our HC, and im excited for the change.

They can interview a hundred coaches for all I care. As long as they get the right one!

It's not a good or bad sign. I do think it's a good approach. Having tunnel vision with one candidate and executing a few token interviews doesn't do the process justice. We had tunnel vision with JJ and NS. With DW, we had no vision.

What if it's to buy time to be able to look like they are doing something whilst stretching it out to give time to later on interview someone like say Cam Cameron for instance after the superbowl?

What they are doing is good because this time they are interviewing as many people as possible and very good canidates and making sure that they make the right choice this tie around unlike last time.

If I were an HR manager, I would want to interview as many as possible qualified candidates before making a decision. The poster who made the comment about tunnel vision is right on, we don't want to make a quick decision on this one like the last time...
