I don't understand Failbin.

I agree with your assessment of Tomlin. Did you agree with how he managed the end of the game?

Speaking of Tomlin, according to my analytics Tomlin was one of the coaches in danger of losing the locker room. I didn't bet against him because of Roethlisberger though. The same goes for Mike Smith, he was/is in danger but I couldn't bet against Matt Ryan and those weapons. Dennis Allen, Jason Garrett and Jeff Fisher rounded out the coaches in danger. I did put actual cash money taking the under on the Rams based on my analytics.

And I actually thought Tomlin's decision to go for it on 4th down against us last season was terrible. He was a good coach at one time but looks to have lost his way.

Well I can tell you my best friend was at the game, and txt me congrads on the Dolphin win and Steller’s have the game in the bag. I turned to that game as said not so fast hold on. His immediate comment was Tomlin lost the game. The look on Tomlins face was unbelievable looked like he wanted to kill someone, my friends response was he should look in the mirror.

How about this situation? Mike Tomlin played it conservative at the end of yesterday's game by not allowing his Superbowl winning QB to convert a 3rd down by throwing. Instead, he chose to run the ball to exhaust Tampa Bay's timeouts.

I gather that most think Tomlin is an excellent coach. He played it conservative despite having a two-time Superbowl winning QB who was having a 3 TD, 0 INT day. Yet Philbin decided to be conservative despite his offense having produced 25 total yards up until the point of decision.

Now if Philbin did yesterday what Tomlin did if in that situation he would have been lambasted on this site. So the point is that it is easy to be critical after the fact when a reasonable decision doesn't work out, even though a priori the conservative decision was logical. So I assume that Tomlin must be getting severely criticized in the General NFL Forum now.

Perhaps this is an example of what Roy_Miami is talking about.

All I've heard today on the radio (besides the lovely jests fans' rantings  ) is people bashing Tomlin's decision and rightfully so. The difference is, he gets the benefit of the doubt because he has proven himself. Philbin hasn't proven a damn thing other than the fact that he can coach a team to mediocrity (I know people despise that word, but there's no other way to describe it). When he makes a dumb decision, he doesn't get that benefit of the doubt; it just adds to the doubt.

For the first time in 3 weeks, the team actually look prepared and I can't remember any boneheaded mistakes off the top of my head. It would be nice to see that consistently.
