Earlier this offseason I said I would be rather mad if Gus ends up being our QB. Well I am sorry for supporting A.J. "Touchy" Feely. I thought Feely was going to be the player we saw in the first quarter against Buffalo last year, but it looks like he will forever be stuck in the second half of that game. I guess the rest of the league knew something that Spielman didn't about him. I mean he did play good those six games for the Eagles. Meaning he wasn't turnover prone. Oh well maybe Gus can be a stop gap for us for 2 to 3 years so that we can draft a second or Third round QB and develop him for a year or two. Although I really think we could trade for Schaub (ATL), or Rivers (If Brees proves last year wasn't a fluke). That would be what I would do first. Then if that wasn't possible I would draft one.

Trading for Schaub just keeps us in this cycle of trying to make a back-up QB into a starter that will take you some where.

Stop fooling yourself people. We need sign a big free agent or draft a QB in round 1 of the draft.

Frerotte honestly didnt do all that much better today, but I too am starting to think Feeley is doomed.. Both of these guys arent the answer, and it will be very interesting to see how Saban fixes this QB problem.

Schaub is only a back because of Vick. If he played somewhere else he would probably be starting this year.

oh please. Don't fool yourself with that logic.

There is no trading for anybody. A decent QB will float out there at some point in next offseason (draft or free agency), and it will be Miami's mission to grab him. Mind you, it might just be an Aaron Brooks type. It would still be an improvement over what Miami has right now based on the limited information we have about our QBs at this point.

By any and all means necessary we need to trade up next year and get Leinhart or any other QB who is Top 10 material. If that even means giving up a future #1 or #2, so be it.

That is probably a good idea considering that would alleviate some cap issues by not having to pay Round 1 money the following year.. This, of course, depends on whether the QB we would pick is a stud or not.. If you trade 2 1's for one, they had better damn well be a stud.. If he were to bust, it would be the downfall of Saban.

I agree He has looked good everytime i have seen him play. Last preseason he was playng against #1 defenses' when Vick didn't play any preseason games.

Eh, that's another issue entirely. I'd prefer something cheaper (in terms of trading picks) and more certain like getting Brees in free agency.

I really dont think Brees will be a FA.. But if he is, I think Saban will give him a hard look..

I would pass on Brooks cuz he always has the costly turnover too.

I'm not trying to polish up Brooks as something he isn't, but Miami does not need to overpay searching for the next Dan Marino (or at least the next Bob Griese). One thing Dave was right about is that you can win the big one with a starter who is middle of the pack or worse if you have the right elements around him. One element is a great offensive scheme with a coach not afraid to use it.

His deal is out next year, right? Do you think he's going to re-sign there or that the Chargers can/will tag him?
