I was thinking today and not having brown really puts a damper on the wildcat package as ricky can run it without a guy going in motion unless Ginn is going to be the new secret weapon.

However I don't think the phins are going to abandon this motion and at times trickery type of offense and go straight to a conventional one.

That leaves pat white and the pistol. Personally I HATE that part of the offense but that is just me. I cannot stand to see a guy that is a 125 lbs soaking wet running with the ball. I dunno even though it can be effective at times. From what I have seen, he isn't reliable enough to throw the ball down field either.

It is a double edged sword though because I think we all agree that Henne needs a game where he isn't coming in and out of the game at times to give him some continuity and keep the momentum. However on the flip side, given our record and where we drafted White, we also need to see what the kid has as well.

What do you guys think?

no ronnie brown = more ricky williams, expect a break out game for ricky this week if our oline plays good.

i never understood the whole reasoning of why we need to see what pat white has. he wasn't a first round pick. he was second. just like henne. and henne sat out a whole year learning. why can't we do that with pat white? why does he HAVE to play this year? let him sit back, take everything in, and just learn.

I like ricky as much as the next guy but the dude hasn't carried a full load since what 2005? I don't know if he has that kind of gas left in the tank. No doubt he can run 15 or so carries a game. However the question is can he be a 20-25 type of guy, game in and game out.

I tend to think that White will get about the same amount of snaps as normal because Sparano doesn't have the sack to tell Henning to stop calling his number.

But then we are talking about Henning so no telling what clusterf**k plays we will see.

I'm not hating on Pat White, I just don't support sending him out there in a one-dimensional capacity. Get his throwing issues worked out or teach him to run a good route and catch a pass. I think the criticism of pulling Henne a couple of plays per game is overblown, but regardless you can't put Pat out there as your "QB" if he can't (or you won't let him) throw a pass.

Pat can't run between the tackles so he doesn't replace Ronnie.

Ronnie being out should mean obviously more Ricky but really, it opens the door for Lex Hilliard. Lex is our ONLY other power RB.

I am not saying that he is going to line up as a substitute for brown. What I am saying is that we may see the pistol more as well as some wrinkles. After all, they took the guy in the 2nd round. They almost have to use the guy.

In other words, Henne comes out for Pat white.

Idk but I hope not. I don't dislike Pat and in fact, I don't have a problem with the fact that they took him in the early 2nd round AS LONG AS IT WAS BECAUSE THEY THINK HE CAN COMPETE AS A POSSIBLE FUTURE STARTING QUARTERBACK.

But I don't think it would have made sense to draft him just for the wildcat b/c we only need the cat now b/c we have no receivers. Hopefully, in the future, we have real WRs and we don't need the cat.

Kinda scary how small Pat white looks on the field. He makes ginn look like TO. But it's still cool to see/hope for a big play out of his snaps.

As expected, White ran the best 40-yard dash of any quarterback at the combine, notching times in the 4.48-4.54 range. But he opened eyes when he began throwing, working out in the same quarterback group with Sanchez. White squared up well and showed a good arm, particularly on a set of out routes, which typically separate the best quarterbacks from the pack. He delivered with good timing, and appeared to have consistently good ball placement.
It was a nice change considering the performance of some other notable quarterbacks – particularly Kansas State’s Josh Freeman and Ball State’s Nate Davis. Both had some erratic moments in their passing performances, and Freeman looked like a ball of raw skill that still had a lot of work ahead of him.
Sanchez had a solid performance, but it wasn’t jaw-dropping, which is what many evaluators thought he needed in order to challenge Georgia’s Matthew Stafford as the No. 1 quarterback in the class. Nobody is going to rush to put White in the Stafford-Sanchez category, largely because he has a frame (6-feet and 197 pounds) that will lend itself to durability issues on the next level. But if he shows he can consistently deliver with his arm, it might engender some patience from teams who will take a shot at developing his skills. At the least, he’s an intriguing option for a Wildcat-type package. At the most, White displayed Sunday that he could be much more.

I also don't like Henne getting pulled like that b/c I think it must throw off his rythm and accuracy.

ith Ronnie out, I hope we just go back to a coventional offense with a powering running game of Ricky and a little Lex behind a great OL. Get Camarillo and Hartline starting with Bess in the slot and for gawd sakes keep Ginn away from the field.

As much as I loved reading that report when it first came out and when I knew we drafted him, realistically, he probably will end up having a career similar to that of Seneca Wallace. He will be a high end backup QB. And that's not a bad thing necessarily and I don't even blame the trio for using the early 2nd round pick for that b/c at the time, we didn't know Henne would be the real deal. Henne now is looking like a legit starter in the NFL but nobody knew that back in April.

bro Ricky carried the ball for 20 times this game we just played. All their gonna do is keep that amount run polite a lil more and maybe hillard some. Pat White will probably see the field on 3 to 4 snaps as usual.

we need to see what he has in order to make a decision as to weather we are gonna dump him off after the season... so far the grade isnt good... my prediction: White traded or released after next preseason
