I get Tannehill chocked but why are we not talking about the defense?!?!

There is no doubt that there are problems with this defense, Wheeler, Conman Reshad, and Ellerbe have been very disappointing this year. The bad part is that we are stuck with them until 2015, (unless we want to do want the Raiders did this year). Even the D-line was not as stout as last season and the DBs outside of Grimes and Patterson are nothing special; Davis and Taylor didn't show anything this year either.

However, the offense's inability to put together long or consecutive drives, causes the D to get gassed very early and easily. Just look at were the Jets scored their two TDs, after two offensive 3 and outs. The D has gotten very little rest over the last two weeks. You can't do that and be successful in this league. The fact that our O put up only 7 points in the last 8 quarters is more concerning that the D giving up 19.5 points over the last two games.

i get it. Tannehill really didn't play well the past 2 weeks but this is the same guy that made great strides against n.e. Stop with the henne comparisons because we all know he is better than henne. However...

Going into this year we were excited about the defense. It was to be figured they would be the one constant. Truth be told, the secondary sucks and bad. Grimes aside (who is a free agent) the entire secondary needs replaced. Taylor and davis made zero impact on this team and you can blame ireland but that is another topic. I don't want to hear about how jones is a good player. He sucks. Clemons is his twin brother in the realm of sucking and nolan carroll is the equivalent of a gay prostitute on the field when it comes to allowing completions to his man, he repeatedly gets ass raped. Jimmy wilson only knows how to hold and get molested each game too. He is a backup at best.

Then we move onto linebacker. Phillip wheeler was a tremendous signing by ireland. The guy was amazing..ly bad at getting beaten. I have no clue what we saw in this guy from oakland. What he made 100 tackles last year? Big f'in deal. Someone had to constantly make tackles on that sorry team. He should be cut in the offseason. I don't care the dead weight cap ramifications. Koa misi? When is the last time this guy made a significant play? Ellerbe? I didn't think he was too bad this year and one could argue he was an upgrade over burnett. Worth the money? Not sure. When guys like trusnik were out on the field due to injuries, the linebacker corp was equally as bad and this guy has no business being on the field. Makes you wonder.

Then you have the front 4. They are quite the enigma. At times they are dominant. Odrick, vernon and wake getting push into the backfield and sacking the qb. Then, when they are needed the most to hide our glaring secondary issues, they completely disappear. So what the ****? Add starks and soliai who are supposed to stuff the run and at times get qb pressure and they allow the bills to just run all over the defense and at times so did the jets. Absolutely pathetic display of effort by the supposed strength of this dolphins team. ****ing embarassing.

Then we have dion jordan. The next goddamn lawrence taylor for the dolphins or that is what it appeared when we drafted him. Some said he needed time to progress and others said he would come on middle of the season. Well what in the hell did the kid do. For the first half of the season, he never played except for situational downs. What's the point? Was his injury that damn bad that he couldn't play for half a year? Awesome contributions for such a high pick. Nobody to this point even knows what he can do and for all purposes next year will be his first year in the league, if the dolphins actually know how to coach this kid up.

I honestly think that much of the demise of this team this year falls squarely on philbin and the coaching staff. I am not a fan of ireland but one could argue that we were competitive at times but when it mattered, the team was repeatedly flat. That 100% falls on the staff. This team showed zero heart and drive in the last 2 games of the year with so much on the line. The question becomes if you can trust a coach that can't get his players to play hard when it really matters. I have a huge problem with that.

The Jests were able to run it all day because they were never threatened by Tannehill.

Give me a break. I like how fickle you are. Tannehill plays good against pats and he looks promising, he doesn't and now he sucks. I haven't given up on him yet, unlike the other quitters. Stop making excuses for the defensive line. There weren't obvious pass situaitons because the d line couldn't stop geno from running on them or the running backs from gashing them. This happened ALL GAME, so I don't know what this offense has to do in the beginning game. Fins were moving the ball the first half, the dropped pass ended that last drive before half. Before that happened even in the beginning of the game, fins could not get a pass rush. It was all game, no excuses for that.

The pass rush was non existent since the beginning of the game. So even when the d was fresh or should have been fresh they still couldn't get pressure.

I agree the D didn't play up to expectations but they played well enough for us to win......they gave up way to many 10-15 play drives but they kept teams out of the endzone for the most part, the Offense couldn't score when needed....the last two games is on the O......

There is some truth to that but on the Jets first td drive and like many drives in the Bills game, Nolan Carroll and company were getting beaten all day long much like the entire year. Our defense starts up front with pressure like most good defenses. That gets shut down, then your secondary better be pretty damn good but at some point they cannot cover all day long no matter how good the db's are. How many times has the offense scored only to have the defense give up a score on the next series? Happened at least 3 times this year in big situations. Baltimore game comes to mind.

The Defense has been a huge disappointment this season. With the season on the line they get dominated by the Bills and Jets. Wake is starting to show his age and he's wearing down. Same thing with Starks and Soliai. DT and even DE should be priorities in this draft right after OL and LB.

The defense is all pro compared to the offense which is why I think many ignore it. With 7 points over the last 4 weeks were folks expecting to win 3-0 and 4-0? When we lose 35-34, 27-24, 31-27 it's on the defense but how many times has that happened. The majority of the time we don't even give this defense the NFL average in scoring to work with. Our offense sucks ass no matter how bad the D has played the offense is the much bigger issue.

Lets not forget we held NE to 20 and scored right around the league average of 24 and won. The defense gets no support and the other team always has their full playbook because we put no pressure on the opposition to have to score. They KNOW we aren't scoring that much before the game starts.

It's much sexier to complain about Tannehill than place blame really where it needs to go. That is on BOTH sides of the ball. Simply put, the defense has major issues and had we played two good teams these past 2 weeks, we would have had our asses handed to us. Giving up 19 points to Thad Lewis and 20 points to Geno smith (should have been 23) is awful.

Tannehill Chocked on Dick today. Dolphins Defense only gave up 20 points, considering Tannehill's 3 Interceptions, Vagina Slide, and Missed Deep Ball to Wallace. If we were not playing the Jets and Geno Smith it would have been a Ass Rape, thank goodness we did not make the Playoffs, we are not a Playoff team

NOT at all. BUT the OBVIOUS dramatic drop off in stopping the run and making the offenses we face one dimensional is a problem. To top it off, our pass rush has been pretty sad and inconsistent ALL season.
