Many times we've seen our team play a few goot to great games in a row to get us all high on the team just for them to lay an egg when it matters most. They did it last year when they lost their last 2 games to miss the playoffs. Of the hard games we got left to play(NE,Denver, ravens, bills and lions)this week would seem like the "easiest" even though it's on the road. This is a game we really need to have. Those other games will be hard and to make the playoffs we'll most likely need 11 wins which means we can only lose 2 more. At NE and at Denver perhaps? Many people are still skeptical about our team. I for one am not really convinced yet that we really are a real contender. This is the kind of win that would get me over the fence. Here's hoping these are the NEW dolphins!!

Well same old Dolphins get spanked. The new Dolphins could lose a close game where they play well vs another talented team. I hate the all or nothing attitude. If we lose a close game where the team plays well this site would be more down in the dumps than if we won and played like crap.

Yup, I'm still skeptical. This team tends to be a bit schizophrenic during stretches. They look legit one week, lay an egg the next. That said, I think that tends to happen when they play down to lesser competition. I don't think they will have any delusions about the Lions going in to this game. The game is going to be won by the lines, period. If they can run the ball and pass pro, Tannehill should be able to move the ball enough. One defense they have to pressure Stafford, otherwise they make huge plays down field.

Must be in the minority here, were going on the road against a team who is rested, who gets back 2 offensive weapons (good ones at that) is 6-2 and we have injury issues of our own. I view the game as difficult. If you combine that with the fact of how good we played recently, especially last week, I think odds are were not going to see our A game tom. If we can some how pull out a win it will be very impressive in my mind.

this is a stupid sentiment. I'm tired of taking moral victories. Win. Win or stfu.

That is not likely. There are a lot of division games to be played and there is just not enough wins to go around for that many teams to be 10-6. Every year about this time it looks like a lot of teams are going to have a lot of wins but as usual when the dust settles in week 17, there is always a bunch of 9-6, 8-7 teams duking it out. If we make it to 10-6 that will be a lock on a playoff spot.

Win or Lose

I've been pleasantly surprised with this team. Though possibly having similar traits of previous teams feel that finally after over a decade we are seeing some pretty good players on this team. When the team is on they look stronger than I can remember and feel that we are seeing some pretty good football....

Sure there are still questions and we need to keep building but I think we now have the core of a solid contender and with a few tweeks here and there will be a force to deal with down the road.... And truthfully never thunk it would have happened going into the season....We have to learn how to be winners and we might just end up shocking the world......

That is not fair to say "same old dolphins" if they lose. There is plenty of football left to play. Win or lose, Thursday is huge. I think it means more if they go in and win against a very good team. Lose and you turn the page quick to Buffalo.

Things will be fine unless injuries hit.

See, the oriblem is that if we lose a close game it'd prove that the team has not really turned the corner. Good teams find ways to win. Not so good teams find ways to lose. Also, if we're ok losing just cause the other team is good then expect to keep losing to good teams. Lose tomorrow and kiss the playoffs good bye.

Well, I hope that you guys are right and that I'm overreacting. But be fair here, haven't we seen this movie before and it always ends bad?...lol

Are we going to win???? who knows.

This isn't the same old dolphins team. The evidence is in the way we are winning and the way we are losing. We haven't Won a close game all year. We only lost one close game. This team started with a Big win at home vs a team that everyone thought would beat us based on second half adjustments. The we laid two eggs in a row as we figured out our first year Offense (but in both games we played better in the second half). Since that point we are 4-1, our only loss was in a very competitive game that we could have easily won (A conversion on 4th and 10 is the difference)

Our Offense lays an egg vs the Jags but the Defense plays light out.

Our O-line is a strength... its was a weakness

Our WR's are deep and good... they were the worst unit in the league 3 years ago.

Our Secondary is second to none.... they were a revolving door of suck for years.

Our running game is a plug and play with success. We have had more talented RB's in the past and less success.

Our QB is effective. We have had 18 starters in the last 14 years. the Patriots, Colts, Giants, and Packers have had 18 starters in the last 14 seasons also, only difference is thats less than 5 per team average.

No matter what happens this weekend we are not the same old Dolphins team. that team was 1-15 in 2007, 4-12 in 2004.

We are on pace to score 422 points this year. we haven't scored that many points since 1986. We are on pace to give up 302 points, we haven't been that stingy since 2006.

Our Offense and Defense ranking on points scored/allowed combined is 12th. the last time we were better than that was 1984 but there were only 28 teams in the league then.

The next 3 weeks will make or break our record and decide if we have a legitatimate chance at the post season. But outside of 2008 this is the only watchable team we've had in 15 years.

This team isn't based on a offensive scheme that won't sustain.

This isn't the same old dolphins!!

That's the problem with fans. You're coming off a 37-0 against a playoff contender and the attitude is "win or I'm done with you". Also, I don't agree with some of the other sentiments expressed in this thread. We haven't been up-and-down. We've had two bad games all year, Weeks 2 and 3. And "many teams we have seen the team play a few great games only to lay an egg when it matters most"? Winning a few close games against contenders like we did last season is not the same thing at all as beating the crap out of someone. With the close games you're going to win some and lose some. When you blow out a team you leave nothing to chance or fake spikes.

My sentiment going into the game is I'm fully satisfied with the way the season has gone so far. I've no idea what's going to happen the rest of the way. I'll let it play out before I decide if I'm frustrated or satisfied with next week's game or the rest of the season for that matter.

Totally hope you're right. I'll reserve judgment and see what happens. In the past every time things are looking good is when we get let down. Trust me, I'm so hoping is different this time but they need to prove it out on the field and last week don't matter. Tomorrow is a big game. Make no mistake about it.

Well, based on some of the comments about how this team is so different we should have no problem winning tomorrow. I'll sleep better now.
