I had vernon compared to anthony spence from dallas. Same type of frame same skillset but something has clearly clicked for Vernon the light went on dude is harassing QBs. I notice we rush him on the inside more and get him man to man with a Guard and he wins 9/10. Dude has 10 sacks probably will end in the 12-5 range. If he does end up with 12-15 sacks u seriously have to take notice. Heck i think everybody already has with 10 sacks. Vernon is eatin' right now.

I think as an edge rusher he is average. He's good inside because it's harder to double team him and he used his quickness and strength well to eventually win against OGs. He is not a guy who you line up and expect to beat double teams though. He gets the least amount of attention because Wake, Odrick, and Starks are great pass rushers and those guys draw the double teams. I like Vernon, he has a great motor and can still get much better. He is still below avaerage against the run though.

Vernon's most impressive play of the year was last week, chasing down cam newton and stopping him short of the first down. Showed excellent speed on that play.

Man with Odrick and Vernon coming on strong, we just resign Soliai, hope Jordan gets going, which I think he will and our front 4 will be insane. Wake, Soliai, Odrick, Vernon for the next 3 years? Yes please. I would like to see more plays and production from Jordan though. He has been a non factor for a while now. Pretty much since he hit Flacco for that pick 6 I haven't seen squat from him.

When Dion gets in to a game he is almost always productive, not sure what you're talking about.. He still doesn't get that many reps though is the issue

He's more Ogunleye than Jason Taylor. Vernon had a great game but I can't honestly say that right now he is capable of being a factor in every game, which is what the league's best pass rushers are no matter which QB & tackle they are facing.

This thread is a little premature. Not that we shouldn't be excited by his play this season, but getting sprung on a player in season 2 is like falling in love with a girl after 3 weeks of dating.

Except for the fact that OV has shown improvement since day 1 of getting here. I highly doubt that will not continue in the immediate future. This kid is gonna be a baller.

I was impressed when he walked and steamrolled DJ Fluker on his way to Philip Rivets a few weeks back. That's a big man he ran over.
