And that was best case scenario!

I have to credit Flores here, about a year ago this team was 0-7 and non competitive, much like the Jets are right now. They were being accused of losing on purpose and people were saying they would not win a game.

Since then they have gone 11-7 in the following 18 games, 5-4 to finish the season and 6-3 so far this year.

They had a strong Draft, a good FA season and the players are buying in to what Flores is preaching.

You were more optimistic than I was. I figured about five wins. I can't wait to see what this coaching staff could do if they actually get some more talented players.

I also thought around. 500, but that was if everything fell into place.

Now, Miami is seriously in the playoff hunt and a team to be reckoned with.

Yet another example to point to when folks jump to conclusions so damned early.

At 0-7 and largely non-competitive, half this forum (maybe even more) wanted to fire Grier and Flores. They just KNEW they werenā€™t the right guys.

But here we are a year later ā€” 11-7 later ā€” and most everyone sees the bright future that lies ahead.

Gotta give things a chance and play it out.

Itā€™s so easy to see how well coached and prepared these players are. Imagine how it might look with a lot more talent?!

This season is far from over and Iā€™m certainly excited to see where it leads. But Iā€™m also very excited to see what happens next draft and FA period. Not only because of all the draft picks, but because more and more FAā€™s are gonna wanna play for MIA. Theyā€™re gonna wanna play for Coach Flo.

Ladies and gentleman ā€” the MIA Dolphins found the right head coach. And so far, it looks like they got the right QB too. Now itā€™s time surround them with more and more talent.

Agree w so much here. This team doesnā€™t rely on 1 or 2 guys to win games. They play complimentary football and have been since the mid point of last year when our no 1 CB was Nick Needham - point is, this team is so well coached to your point. The next man up can get the job done. I hate stupid teams and love smart ones. The 70ā€™s teams were Einsteinā€™s compared to most which is why they won - a lot. The last 20 years weā€™ve had knuckleheads and clown shoes. Not anymore. This is a good football team.

In defense of a lot of people reactions to us going 0-7 last year, Grier and Flores absolutely gutted our roster.

In hindsight, they look like geniuses for making the Tunsil trade and now we're seeing the corner turning (and quickly).

But don't forget that we had some talent on this roster, and they jettisoned nearly all of it. I think we were impressed the team didn't give up on Flores and that the FO was able to coach up a patchwork team to a respectable finish.

But let's not act like we still would've started 0-7 if we'd attempted to build on what we had instead of burning it to the ground. Ultimately, getting younger and building draft capital was the right move, but we didn't have to start last season the way we did, we chose to.
