Last night, watching the game at a bar with a buddy of mine, I just had to say:
"Man, I don't like the fact that the 'Phins are having to play on the infield...last year, they lost a player to a season ending injury on it..."
Next thing I know, BAM! LG gets blasted. My buddy just looked at me and shook his head.

I'm getting that "head shaking" thing a lot lately...but I still love my Phins! :D

Yeah we need our own stadium. Marino Field anyone? Shula Stadium?

but the infield had nothing to do with it.

I dunno...I'd rather land shoulder (and head) first on grass/athletic turf than pure dirt...

At any rate, I was talking more about the timing of the injury than the location.

Plus Gordon would have had better footing to prepare for the hit. Darn Marlins.

I think the injury had more to do with the 5 turnstiles, than the dirt infield.

The way the Dolphins are playing right now..they deserve to be sent back to the Orange Bowl. Atleast the Marlins are have had success recently('97, '03 Champs). Give them Pro Player.

The footing would have helped.

The shoulder he landed on wasn't the one that was injured. It was the one he got hit on. Also, Chris Hope would have been able to get better traction and generate more into the hit if he'd been on grass too. So, on grass, this is one injury that could have been worse.
