Suck it Red Sox fans!!!!!!!

I hate them too, but I hate the Phillies that much more.

Hey Phillies, this is how you beat the Yankees in the World Series:

The Phillies are still the better team. Girardi just was able to use CC twice, and their other two starters twice, and Howard had a bad series. We'll get paybacks next year. I like the Philles winning the NL East again...they just need to add a solid closer and they'll be heading back to the Series for the third straight time.

very sad day for baseball

I guarantee if other baseball teams had the kind of money that the Yankees did they would be doing to same thing and the NFL is heading in the Same direction as the MLB IMO a Cap is needed in all sports

So if the Yankees "bought" their championship (as a lot of typical Yankee haters like to complain about), then why couldn't 3* of the other top 5 teams in payroll not manage to get themselves in the playoffs???

*Three teams in the top five of annual MLB payroll:
2. Chicago Cubs ($145 million)
3. New York Mets ($136 million)
5. Detroit Tigers ($131 million)
