I Have A Good Feeling About This

So... Just as I thought. Joe Failbin once again shows his true colors. He fires his buddy to save his own behind. Now, there is no way he will have the trust of the remaining members of his staff. He is now a Lame Duck Coach. The only difference between the situation now and the situation in Sparano's last year, is Ross did not go looking for a Coach while Failbin was still employed. BTW I still think Ireland will be gone or re assigned to another position.

I'm not defending Philbin as a coach, but this is a business. Did you want him to be joined at the hip with Sherman for his entire tenure? Sherman flat out didn't get it done, so now he is done.

If that doesn't happen should we start a thread about how wrong you were?

IF the only change we are making is the OC, we are in serious trouble no matter who we bring in. Why? Philbin obviously isn't going to be happy about firing Sherman. If Ireland survives it will be because he sucessfully threw Sherman under the bus to save his job, which is not good for him and Philbin working together. It's going to be hard to find a new OC because Philbin will want someone he's familiar with, but that means it will likely be a lot like the offense Sherman ran. I'm sure Ireland (and Ross?) are going to want something different and that's just going to cause all kinds of problems. I've got a really bad feeling about how this is all playing out for next year.

I think Ireland will no longer be the GM of the Dolphins after the Ted Wells report is released.

I think Ross is waiting to fire him with cause. And yes, that's wishful thinking.

We are Dolphins fans so we all expect the worst--that's what we do! So Ireland being let go, while a pipe dream for most of us, probably won't happen. The only thing we can hope for is the whole Czar thing that Armando alluded to. It seems to work well in Denver so perhaps Ross finally realized his ineptitude when it comes to football acumen and is stepping back and letting the football people make the football decisions. We can only hope.

I think we all know there's penty of "cause" re: Ireland, so I'm not sure he needs more ammunition to fire him, unless he just doesn't want to pay him unemployment. LOL. I hope you are right about the Wells report, and it wouldn't surprise me if that's the plan, but that could take us past the Super Bowl and I'm not sure he wants to wait that long. I've said all along that I believe the other NFL owners and the NFL itself really want this Martin thing to go away, so I think there may be some behind the scenes activity to get rid of all the bit players in the drama. Ireland would be the last to fall unless Philbin is somehow implicated.
