With the Eagles win over the Vikings today everybody has a loss. Which means the 1972 Dolphins are still the only undefeated team in NFL history for another year!

OUTSTANDING!
I got to see every game the 1972 Dolphins played. I was 13 at the time...one year removed from the '71 season where Miami set one cool record...the longest game in NFL history (Fins vs. Chiefs - Christmas Day.)
Those two squads were utter magic! They were my heroes.

You know what I'm happy about this. People always downplay this achievement because it happened so long ago. They know damn well if it was their team we would hear about this stat. So pour me a glass my friend the record lives on !!!!! Phins Up!!!!!

Yeah too early to worry about it just like it was too early to start thinking about the 1st overall pick 2 weeks ago. I wonder if anyone is called by today's win meaningless yet?

This time I really wanted it to end before November, unlike most recent seasons. Today I was fully invested in the Eagles in a variety of ways. When Bradford's stats were so miserable early in the game -- basically 2 YPA -- I had a good feeling, but not until 11-3 turned into 18-3 did I relax and become confident it was going to happen.
The way the Dolphins played today with the emphatic relentless running game was also a tribute to that 1972 team and the era in general. Fantastic. It was just like 1972 because I kept thinking and saying out loud, "keep running it," even when we were on our own 1 yard line. Shula of 1972 would have been very proud of Gase, October 2016.
