I haven't posted much over the past decade or so, for a variety of reasons. I mostly lurk and occasionally chime in on things. I can't remember the last time I even started a thread, and now seems like a good time to do so.
I just can't remember the last time I was so pumped for a Dolphins game. The last time the Dolphins won a play-off game, I was a junior in college, and now I'm in my mid-30's. The last time the Dolphins were even in the play-offs, I was excited, and 2008 was a fun season, but deep down I knew they didn't stand much of a chance against the Ravens. This season, I barely expected anything from this team. 4-5 wins, tops. And when they started 1-4, with the 1 win almost feeling more like a loss, I figured it was just more of the same. Even after the winning streak started, I still remained cautious. I can remember the moment that I really started believing in this team - Kiko Alonzo's pick-6 against the Chargers. I hadn't been that excited during a Dolphins game in years. I just kept jumping up and down yelling "OH MY GOD!! OH MY GOD!! OH MY GOD!!" And I never really get that up or down during games anymore - I just kind of sit and watch. Of course, the winning ways continued for most of the rest of the season, with the team making clutch play after clutch play to secure a play-off berth.
So here we are, the first play-off game for the Dolphins game in 8 years. I literally cannot wait to wake up on Sunday morning and pull on my official team-issued #33 Jay Ajayi jersey (yup, that's right, I scored a jersey from a pre-season photo shoot off eBay before he changed his number - I believe it is the one he is wearing in this picture: http://media2.cardboardconnection.c...n-Football-Variation-RC-Jay-Ajayi-215x300.jpg). I paid about the same price you'd pay for a Nike Elite jersey on NFLshop.com, and I can't even fathom how much it would be worth if I tried to sell it now (not like I want to). And yeah, the Dolphins might not win on Sunday, but it's not like they aren't capable. They mauled this same Steelers team to start the 6-game winning streak. I can't wait to cheer this team on for their biggest game in years.
LET'S GO DOLPHINS!!!!!
