This game should solidfy in everyone's eye the need for lineman. I know that is a sentiment that most share, but everyone once and I while some dope comes on this board and suggests that we should spend our first round pick on a wr. Bottom line, there OL was more physical than ours, and we could not run the ball against thier DL.

McIntosh is a fat piece of crap who doesn't give 110% percent. Hell half the time he doesn't give 50%, like the last Harrington sack. Not to mention he's penalty prone. Get McIntosh's fat *** out of here.

A lineman sounds like a decent first round pick to me. If any worthy ones are there.

Well we really need a QB, O-line(Shelton is good though, and our D-Line is pretty good also), and maybe kicker.

Absolutely correct about O-Line. However, defensive secondary also seems like a glaring need. I got blasted a couple of weeks ago for putting CB after O-Line on my list of needs, but the play was pathetic today. I would put O-Line and secondary #1 and #2 needs, respectively.

I hope there is a stud LT available when we pick in the first round. I doubt we'll pick early enough to get Joe Thomas from Wisconsin, but hopefully the second coming of Jonathan Ogden from Maryland is still on the board.

Joe Thomas is going to the Cards in the top 3, so no shot at him. And even if we were picking that high it would have to be Quinn. QB is the most glaring need. Our 3 QBs right now arent gonna cut it, this year, the next, or the one after.

If none are around, OL is a good possibility. I know they struggled today, but I dont see secondary as our first rounder. If its defense it should be LB.

But QB is easily the biggest hole right now. This team is playing with a washed up star and a pair of backups. Not gonna cut it.

Yea, definately a DB too. I love how everyone thinks our secondary doesn't have problems just because they *managed* a few games. Well, lets get DBs that SHUT DOWN a few games, not squeak by a few games, then we can talk about not drafting a DB. It's also completely unexcusable to me for any non-QB 1st round pick to not be on that field (looking at you Jason Allen) and contributing in his first year. People go in the first round because they are the most talented and ready to play (or they project that way anyway), so for them to be sitting on the bench the whole time makes the pick seem like a waste.

I am also still a firm believer that we need a QB because Daunte is nopt, and never was, "the answer", and Joey is give-and-take.

well....i believe that we do need a standout playmaker on offense...Chris Chambers is a great Second option and thats it...Marty Booker and Hagan are good Second options and thats it...we need that WR that strikes fear into everybody.

but secondly and more importantly we do need an OL, DL, LB or whoever worthy of that pick...no trading up and no reaching...thats most important more than who we pick, what position, or why we picked that position...

Secondary is not a big a problem as most of you make it out to be o-line, d-line, and linebacker but the Fins should definitly draft soemone on the for the first 2 rounds and then worry about linebackers and maybe even a qb.

IMHO we should take the best WR/CB/OT/LB in the first and not target one position. I think that given it looks like we may be in the middle of the pack OT is one area to look at given thaqt there are several OT's in that area...at least right now....Levi Brown, Sam Baker, Tony Ugoh, Justin Blalock, Jake Long, ETC....

Unless CJ of Ga Tech or USC's receiver falls down to us, I can't see us going with a wide receiver. We need LB's, OL's, some D-lineman, a new kicker, and could use another solid d-back.

Dwayne Jarrett could actually be there when we pick, I am personally not sure he is mid first rounder, he has never really taken over like CJ can and some others have, i just hope we get the best guy at a position of need...

Joe Thomas is the only Stud LT coming out of this draft IMO and Center is the only other real position of need and you can always get one in the second or third round.

So unless Thomas is there I have no problem drafting a guy like Dwayne Jarret

It is really not that simple.

We have many needs, OL and WR included. I agree that we need OL help more than we need WR help, but if we can get a game-changing playmaker in the 1st round and a solid LT in the second round, then we should draft the WR first.

I firmly believe in a modified best player available approach to the draft. Get the best guy on the board, but if there are two guys with a similiar talent level, get the guy who fills the biggest need.
