every time a certain player makes one or two bad plays. some of the users on here post the most negative comments ever towards them. You know john beck might not have been the greatest player on the team but there was no reason for people to make fun of him or make negative remarks towards him. You know why, cuz he is a DOLPHIN. He was out there giving it his all for the fans and for his team. Ive also seen alot of people saying that vontae davis is the next jason allen cuz he made some bonehead plays. It was his first game in the league. It will take some time to get use to the league as a DB. Sean Smith is just a lot higher than Davis now. thats all. some of us need to be positive and say Oh he just had a bad game. He'll bounce back, and if he doesn't then you can express yourself. But we get mad every time another fan talks bad about one of our players so why do we do it.

Fans have unreasonably high expectations for their players. Especially when they are drafted high. Slamming them is a way to cope with the disappointment (or fellate oneself about being right about something). Black and white is always easier to deal with than shades of gray. Nevertheless, I agree with you.

Walking into the facility and putting a Dolphin cap on your head doesn't earn everyone's support.....that's for the residents of Homerville...

Going out and performing....doing your job....proving you can play....acting like it means something to you....playing and practicing with heart...desire...focus...determination....the way you're supposed to....etc...etc...etc...

Those things are what EARNS my support....

I don't just heap it upon some bum just because another bum wanted him here.....when it's clear to me that the guy is a bum along with the bum that hired the bum that brought the bum in here...

IMO you're not a real dolphins fan, you're just a fake fan who only wants his/her team to do well just so you can say you are a fan. You have no real allegiance.

We are passionate fans who passionately want this team to succeed. It wasnt the mistakes as much as it was Vontae's seemingly nonchalant attitude towards his mistakes (at least for me).

Would you prefer the fans to be apathetic towards the performance of the team? I think fans being critical means that fans care. I think thats a good thing.

I resent this comment towards Slimm. What he said is correct. Teams, and certainly players, earn peoples respect and support. You think I am spending one second criticizing another player from another team? you know why? Because I dont care anything about any other team. I care about the Fins and when I see a player do something that jeapordizes the Fins chances to win, I am going to be critical. Same as Slimm.

And you dont think the players care if we support the team? I can assure you Stephen Ross cares. Hes going Ape Shi-ite crazy trying to get fans to support the Fins.

How else should we judge him? On what he might do in the future? We have to judge him on what we have seen. Good news....he gets a chance in a few days to correct his mistakes and to put this game behind him. All of us, every single one of us, wants him to do that in the worst way.

Wow you're the coolest internet poster I have ever come across I bet you have legions of nerdlings orbiting around your gigantic head.

You brushed aside everything I said with one word answers and then further added insult to injury by throwing in a "next" in there.

All I'm saying is you whine a bit too much, sure I like to win, and I like to see the team do well, but it is just a game. Regardless of how a player performs or which team they are on, if they play poorly there is no reason for insulting them, calling them names, dedicating "you suck" threads to them. They go out there and try their hardest...sometimes it's not enough. Most of the time it's never enough for "fans" like you, but they are trying. I'm willing to wager money that you've never really excelled at any sport that involves strenuous physical activity, poured your heart and soul into something and experienced defeat and victory, because if you did you might actually have a little respect for the players regardless of what their logo is. Walk a mile in their shoes and I guarantee you would never call a player that gives a solid effort a bum.

I don't care about the logo, I was born and raised in W. Palm Beach. Florida is my home, always has been and always will be. I share more than an affinity for the logo, but I don't think you would understand that either.
