and I think he could be a very good option for Miami. He was a heck of a running back at North Texas, and he had a chance to make the Patriot roster going into last nite. I believe he fumbled in that game, which may dampen his opportunity for them, but increase his options with other teams. He did real well in the preseason; he is only 5-8.

The guy I would absolutely go gaga over is Norwood from the Falcons. The guy is a speedster and great in the open field. I would trade for that guy. I would give them a 3rd rounder! He is that good. But Im just dreamin. sorry.

Dreamin' is an understatement. Norwood is the future featured back in Atlanta and the offer to get him would have to be close to the deal that brought Ricky Williams to the Dolphins.

Being from Mississippi I am quite familar with Norwood..

I would trade a third round pick for him too, but that ain't going to happen. I did just read another article on a good young running back much like Cobb. I saw this guy run in the Saint Colt game and he is built low to the ground and has great hands for a running back. His name is Jammal Branch, from Colgate. Cobbs and Branch I believe are two very good options, but they are rookies.

2 first rounders? really? That is a bit much for a guy who hasnt taken over starting duties yet. I get your point though.

 I'm a big fan of Norwood, I was hoping he'd slip to us in the draft in the 4th or 5th round.

with the Morris suspension, do you think that KJ and Minor have made the team?

I doubt it... I would go with rookies who performed..

better for their teams, such a Branch for New Orleans or Cobb for New England. Just my opinion. But I see the need to get a veteran. This probably means Minor makes the team if he was not going to anyway.

IMO no, I think we'll see a pickup this weekend.

Yup I've been stumping for Cobb since before the game yesterday. The Pats have a bit of a squeeze with Maroney, Dillon, Faulk, Pass, and Evans. They have four TEs thanks to David Thomas and Garrett Mills...plus they have a long snapper specialist that can't play TE or OL, and they generally like to keep a whole lot of LBs on the roster. Pass is hurt, could start the year on PUP...which means Evans probably makes it as the only true fullback on the roster.

Cobbs has run 38 times for 188 yards, 3 TDs, along with 7 catches for 115 yards and 1 TD. He fumbled last night...but I'm not sure the fumble will be enough to kick him off the roster. Coming from NE, you know the guy has been coached well too...which means he can probably pick up blocking assignments.

Keep in mind that we don't have to reserve a roster space for Morris while he is suspended for the first four games.

Regardless we could use another RB. We don't even have a legit #3 IMO.
