Every talking head that goes on TV says the big difference between the Fins and Rams is the quarterback. They say that Bradford is a "franchise guy" and Dolphins "don't have a qb". I do not want to debate the merits of Matt Moore. However, the guy must be pissed every time he hears that ****.

Matt Moore DID lead his team to 6-3 finish.
He was in the top 12 in QB rating.
The Fins were 2nd in the league of 25-plus yard pass plays

He has nice touch
Spreads the ball around
Has command of the offense
What a thing of beauty was his long drive vs. the Jets in the last game of the year

Yes, he does suck in the 4th and I am not confusing him with Drew Brees. However, I think he is a starter in the league and when he is protected, he is pretty good.

Anyways, I feel bad for him when the Clayton's, La Confora's and King's of the world say the Fins "do not have a quarterback.

I agree with you. As I said in another thread, I think the word "franchise" gets thrown around a bit too much with Bradford. If he has another crummy year, will the QB situation still be looking great in St. Louis?

I also remember the same guys laughing when Miami signed Matt Moore as Henne's competition.

Moore clearly played better behind a worse Oline as well. says a lot. And I don't see him regressing either.

Bradford needs help. We need a line.

the only people who think miami has a long term answer at qb are the people on this board...the entire league would choose sam bradford and his upside over matt moore all day every day

This just goes to show you how much of a buffer perception can give you. Sam Bradford was the #1 overall pick, so he has a buffer against his initial bad play. He can go out and have the two seasons he has had to this point, and people are still going to find an excuse for why he is failing until it gets to the point that they realize that he just doesn't have it.

With Matt Moore, there is another perception that comes with being a UDFA and an unheralded free agent signing. When you are a UDFA, you can't afford to have a down game. You can have a string of starts where you play very well, but when you have that one down game that everyone has, all of a sudden it shows who you really are.

To put it in simple terms, if you are a first round pick and have 20+ games worth of overall poor play, the one game you have where you throw up a 110 passer rating is the true indication of what you can do if you just had the players around you. If you are a UDFA though and have 20+ games of overall good to great play, the one game where you throw up a 60 passer rating is the true indication of what you can do. The previous 20 games were just smoke and mirrors.

That's what we have here. Sam Bradford was the 1st overall pick. Matt Moore was undrafted. Therefore, Sam Bradford is a franchise quarterback whereas Matt Moore is just a back up despite the fact that Matt Moore has completely outplayed Sam Bradford.

its also the fact theres $50 mil invested in bradford...and he does still have franchise qb caliber upside...matt moore...thats not a franchise caliber guy...so the leash is gonna be longer with bradford...as it damn well should be

yesterday mayock was sayin you want a qb who takes care of the ball and doesn't take bad sacks....hmmm...matt moore doesn't do either...

Matt Moore will never be confused with the other elite QB's around the league ... but there are 2 things that stood out in 2011 1) his command of the offense, after having a few bad games while getting acclimated to the Daboll system and 2) his long ball accuracy was something not seen around here in a long time ... Moore hit guy's down field that Henne and Feidler could never do!!! He proved that with a good running game and a diversified passing attack, you can win with him ... Too bad for the lack of protection he got from his O-Lineman or who knows how much better he might have played ... on the negative side, he fumble much more than you'd like to see and doesn't seem to run when he has the opportunity to ... I'm not saying Miami shouldn't look for a franchise QB, all I'm saying he is worth starting, while Miami Grooms the next guy ...

yeah barring something coming thru that door this offseason unforeseen at ths point moore has earned the right to be the starter week 1 next season...no argument there...but i still think we're gonna get a mixed bagg of results from him as long as he's the qb...agreed on the deep ball accuracy...much better than we've seen in a long time...

I agree with most of what you are saying, but I don't understand why Moore doesn't have upside. Can't some of his weaknesses be corrected with coaching? He has limited starts over his career too. Why can't he continue to improve? I am asking because I want to understand this stuff better. I wish I had a better grasp of this QB thing for my own education.

his fumbling is a trend...his taking bad sacks a trend...i think thats a part of him as a player...how you gonna improve his ball placement and accuracy on underneath routes when he's got a clean pocket and can deliver from a level platform and still miss...repeatedly...these things are a part of the package...they come with the kid

i don't see it changing...this isn't some guy first or second year in the league...he's been in the league long enough to say some things are a part of the player

My question is has Bradford proved he is that guy yet? He seems to be injured a lot, that's for sure.

You give a very assessment there. I KNOW he is not Tom Brady. However, the TV talking heads make him be someone like Tyler Palko or something. I feel bad for the guy. He played well relatively speaking this year.

Get Matt Moore an Alshon Jeffery-type in the Red Zone in which he can throw a jump ball up for a TD...oh yeah...improve the line enough that you can run the **** over people in tight.

of course he's better than tyler palko...that kids trash...moore has i'd say top 20 upside i guess...but thats not good enough to get us over the hump...thats just more treading water
