The southpaw. I assume thats what the medium article was referring to. I understand it though as we have such a prevalence of right-handed QBs. There is no article in your initial post to click on so I;m guessing.

Lefty QBs weren't as novel back then. Just in that era was Young, Esiason, Brunell, Scott Mitchell, with some overlap with Vick...plus Kenny Stabler was around for a long time. The last highly touted lefty was probably.....Matt Leinart?
 
I don't know, I don't think I've ever had issue with the ball coming out, some throws the last 2 years have just tended to float or be in the air a long-time, longer than you're used to seeing. I've always appreciated the quick release so the ball coming out of his hand has never been an issue for me at least.
