Fun, but not realistic. To that end, how about a fan favorite to start in the competition. Like if there were 7 people interviewed, let the fans invite one of them - providing they'd agree. Then Ross and company can weed that person out when the novelty wears off, haha.
But you're right, some fans could get this ship righted more than "paid experts"
