I dont think we have had a turnover yet??? have we?
i just checked the game stats and noticed no INT's and No fumbles.
This is one of the major improvements i have noticed which will make the biggest difference between this year and last year in my opinion, not turning the ball over!

OK so it is just preseason but to me at least this is a very big deal.

I think the way the team is playing by being more physical & more of a fundamentals team is lowering the turnovers & once we stop the little penalties we can compete with most teams.

Oh it is a big deal, especially since a Rookie QB has been taking almost all the snaps in both games. Thats a BIG deal. I mean, imagine the confidence that Henne is gaining right now having played two full games without throwing and INT. Preaseason or not, he's a rookie playing with other pros and hes doing well.

Last year Jacksonville shoved us around. That's my memory of that game. I drove to Miami from a vacation in Saratoga and stopped in a northern Florida hotel just in time to see the game. We were toyed with in the trenches, other than maybe one long run up the gut.

I didn't even care that Beck pulled out that '07 game. The bottom line was very obvious; we were pathetic.

This game might not be totally representative but no doubt we're much more formidable at the line of scrimmage. In ability and attitude.

Great point! We're headed in the right direction folks.

right no turnovers in two games with 2 take aways

thats true, we need to work on the penalities now. We have had 0 turnovers, but what I think was amazing was up until midway through the 3rd quater last night the bucs and Jags didnt have 1 penalty called on them....amazing! WHile we had 13. A couple of which eliminated big plays. But its preseason

I was very impressed with how much better Jax was last year. I agree they really manhandled us without really trying. Then after one injury after another we had very little left too finish the season. This year the roles were reversed, I think they must have been very surprised with how much better we played. One thing I was dissappointed with were the special teams. Who is the coach and why are they allowing such big runbacks on the kickoffs? A couple times it looked as if they were gonna break one.

There is one thing I always look for in pre-season, and most of the time it is a really good indicator of where the team is at: I always watch the first string OL and DL.

Last year and the year before I was watching our OL get manhandled and saying that our team was not going to be good if they don't get that fixed, turns out I was right.......

BP knows football and the first thing he did was work on the OL, the DL, and the attitude of the players (like jettisoning a HOF player that was a disruption to the team).

From what I've seen and heard this year, it seems as if the OL and DL have taken a step in the right direction. That is about the only thing that matters this preaseason and it appears the Dolphins will be a better team than they were last year.

I am pleasantly optimistic that the Dolphins can win some games because it appears they've significantly improved their OL and DL.

yep i was very impressed especially since i was able to watch this game and wasnt able to catch the first one. We are optimistic every year but i feel this year these feelings are warrented with what they have done with our team, i was happy to see the ginn stats too looks like pennigton will be really good for him. He might not be the best QB in the league but he is a great step up from anything we have had as of late. People always want the long bombs but always seem to want to overlook accuracy. With the running of both of our RB's and the accuracy of pennigton i dont see us setting more records with 3 and outs those will be a thing of the past (except the occasional slip ups hahah)
But what you were saying about watching the 1st string OL and DL i was very impressed as well. The only funny thing with that is when Jake Long was schooled by the crafty VET move but at least it happened in preseason and i am sure he is pretty pissed at himself and its just another lesson learned to get him ready for the season!!!

To all the fellow fin fans drink up its going to be a good year:beer1:

All good points. Yeah, the Jake Long gaffe was just that, a gaffe. He anticipated wrong and the DE just made a nice move, it happens. It also looked like Long decided to let him go and get to the next tier thinking someone else would pick up his man. Could it have been designed that way? I don't know, but it seemed strange. I wish I could watch it in slow motion and break it down. Perhaps CK or someone like that already has. LOL.

GO PHINS~!

I don't expect Jake Long to be perfect, and anyone who does should get it out of their system now. Some well seasoned Vets are gonna beat him, and some quick guys are gonna own him on a play here and there. But overall, he'll hold his ground most of the time.

very well put! better break down than what i was thinking haha

Yes, no turnovers.. But I also liked the fact that we didn't give up any sacks.. Penny and Henne had plenty of time.

As I mentioned in another thread, that's as good as it gets for a young O-line this early in a season.

didnt solia force the fumble? If so, who was it against and what quarter?
