Why? Mainly for my own pleasures. If Tua balls out and we beat them at their place then I don’t see any way anyone can continue to criticize Tua. Not that it matters, but that to me would be the game that the realization that they were wrong sits in.

Tua could ball and we could still lose

Every game is not on Tua. Let's get that out of the way.

You have to at least split with the AFC East and / or sweep the Jets or Pats both of which is a tough task to do. So realistically you need to be 3-3 or 4-2 in the AFC East to have a chance. You also have to go 3-2 the first five weeks if possible.

I believe we will be 5-0 after the first 5 weeks if everything goes well for the team (game planning, health, playback is understood well, etc).

I'm just looking forward to seeing what Tua looks like with a real system and real weapons - another year removed from the hip injury, and he looks much stronger in 2022. Thank God 🙏

If McDaniel is half as smart as coaches and players are saying, a quality QB makes this one of the top 3-5 offenses in the league - looking more at efficiency than totals. If they run as much as they say they want to, that could drag their totals down.

I doubt that we will be a run heavy team by percentage. That's rare these days. I take it more as stressing the importance of being able to run the ball effectively, rather than a statement that we will run the ball an exorbitant amount.

I think Shanahan tends to run more than league average. I'm not sure if McDaniel will bring that with him, though. I hope you're right fwiw. I hope the offense looks more like that SB Atlanta team than SF.

Isnt the Dolphins new HC a Shanahan tree guy?

Shanahan is notorious for running a TON.

Over the last 2 seasons, the 49ers have run MORE than they pass. 51% running, 49% passing.

Fun read. Curious to see where McDaniel differs from Shanahan.
