I know our coaching staff would like Ginn to focus on being a number 1 receiver. But he is waaaay to dynamic in the return game to have him sitting during kicks and punts. I mean Bess is ok but Ginn is dynamic. Ginn got into the offense last weekend which helped his confidence i am sure but he still need to get more touches. Kicks Punts end around in the hig formation

PS
him in the end around in the hog would be damn near unstopplable....him at full speed while the D is at a stand still please that race is over before it starts and his decoy could let Ronnie run wild. Just saying thats why they get paid and i speculate haha.

It's a wonder why Ginn isn't involved more in many respects. Whether it's the return game, or the passing game. Ginn is one name no-one is really bantering about too much.

So what does that mean? He's still to green, and need more grooming? The staff want him to focus on his routes than returns? Does he take to long to get upto speed? We've debated it all. We've still yet to see Ginn have a truly big game. He's due.

I have NFI and was wondering the same thing. I think he is much better than Bess at returning kicks.

Bess is the returner b/c the coaching staff says he's better at breaking takles. They're right. Ginn's main problem is he is a long strider. Nobody is faster than Ginn in a straight line. Ginn lacks the quick feet needed to suddenly change direction and make defenders miss. The Pats game is a good example. He caught a pass in front of a defender, had time to turn around, but was not fast enough to make an evasive move. The tackle looked easy.

ok then have Bess return punts...but for kickoffs is about one cut and just plain straight line speed....long strides dont matter on kick off......i just want Ginn to touch the ball as much as possible

That would be a good solution. I'm guessing, though, that the coaches either felt there were things Ginn wasn't doing as a WR, or they wanted to lighten his load to see how good he could get at the position quickly if he didn't have any distractions. It's not just playing the position, but the study and preparation for both offense & special teams in practice & team meetings that would fill his plate.

Worst decision by this regime. His return ability makes him special and we take him away from that.

I would like to have Jayson Foster on the active roster! He would be great at those trick plays formations for us too and i would like to see him as our kick/punt return specialist! (my #1 option is still Ginn!) Bess is ok, but he scares nobody! Ginn and Foster would be the much better option and could be a scary combo!

Jayson Foster = Darren Sproles!

Bess is a beast on Punts. KRs however should be both them with Ginn getting more of the returns.

Our ST's have been pathetic from the kickoffs and punts to the coverage and returns. We had all off season to improve and they look terrible. Bess looks avg. He doesn't look like he has the explosive speed you need to take it to the house.

And why the heck do our punt retuner guys not catching the darn ball. How many times have Bess and Ginn let the ball bounce. Are you kidding me? Run up or over and get the ball!!

I can't believe we don't have a WR with blazing speed that can return kicks. Oh wait - that would be Ginn.

Ginn has definately not been the player advertised so far.

well he did play well on sunday, and he hasnt loss the starting job like many babbled about all week!. He prove that he can catch ball which many of you claim he couldn't.

ginn got into the endzone 3 TIMES last year.

how many returners besides leon washington and
and devin hester can say that? this doesnt just
happen!!

yes, a couple were called back, but only ONE of those
so called penalties might have had a chance of helping
the play.

and ginn scored on a return in the pre season.

so i dont buy ANY of the excuses or explanations by
the trifecta.

something is UP!! you dont take out a talent like ginn
for nothing. not to work on his hands or routes.

could a TRADE be in the works? maybe they are being cautious
with him? maybe parameters are being worked with another
team for a player [wr or db] and they are using ginn sparingly
untill its done.

i do not think they are holding him out for nothing. bess hasnt
even sniffed the endzone, pre or regular season on punt or
kick returns, even if he does have more latteral movement.

i think something is awry and i will be THE FIRST to say this.....

TED GINN WILL BE TRADED BEFORE THE DEADLINE!!

MP08!!

players are never traded before the deadline, and certainly not young promising receivers with big contracts.
