As much as I Like Dan ... Last night proved that we need a coach that knows X's and O's. We need a coach that knows how to scout other teams and\or put systems in place to fully prepare players for upcoming matchups. I swear it looked as though the patriots defense was in our huddle last night. They knew exactly what we were running looks like before Our own QB DID!! Those fake screens, bubble screens, short passes etc..... The Pats were all over that sh** I think the announcer even said "looks like the patriots DB's are running the routes for the Dolphins Receivers. WE NEED THAT

Who knows how the patriots were cheating last night, it did seem like they were really keyed in on the short passes, but that's what works for Tanny so taking it away was probably an easy decision.

Personally, I didn't like the decision to defer the kickoff. Sure enough, the Patriots marched down the field, scored a TD, and immediately made us play from behind.

As the announcers mentioned, the Patriot defense practices every day against the best short-passing game in the NFL (Tom Brady). Plus, they were likely expecting a short-passing game based on our success last week at Houston.

A few days before the game, a commentator on the NFL network mentioned that the Patriots were vulnerable to deep passes, but we didn't exploit that.

Double edge sword. If we receive first then ppl and experts would say " Oh that was a mistake. The Patriots will score and end the half to get ball again". They scored to end the half and imagined if we received first. They would of scored again in the beginning of the 2nd half.

Practicing every day against a HOF qb, games days against a JV qb running similar stuff must seem easy.

That didn't bother me a bit. 3 and 16 the D needs to get a stop and we would have been off to a good start. Instead they go full dolphin, giving up the 1st and then a TD.

I also love Campbell. Not sure if he is ready......but he has 9 more games of learning to experience before a permanent decision has to be made.
Don't make a final judgement until the end of the season. One thing I believe. Campbell will someday be a Head Coach. IF the decision to bring
someone other than Campbell is made......I think Ross should hire someone who wants to keep Campbell on the staff and wants him to have a
important and prominent position.
The key word is wants to. Ross should not have to demand that he be kept.

Remember, he has only been a TE coach for what, 5 years? Still has much to learn. New England only shows that. The next two games will make
the picture much clearer. A win over the Bills AND Eagles is a better barometer on how far he has brought them. Did you REALLY think we would
beat the Patriots last night? No, you didn't......be honest.

After the next two games, if we stand at 5-4, we can still make a run at 9-6. The Patriots look to be the only "unbeatable" team that remain.
That would show that Campbell and the Dolphins can be special and that they really can challenge the Patriots in a year or two.

Lets see what happens....don't make the final judgement now.

When you defer the kickoff, you're giving the other team a scoring advantage in the first half, and your team a scoring advantage in the second half.

But here's the problem with that strategy:

Going into this game, the Patriots were 71-0 at Gillette Stadium when leading at halftime.

That's right. 71-0. That's not a typo. Now it's 72-0.

I think it's the coordinator's job to handle the Xs and Os, I saw a team that was motivated and was let down by the offensive play calls and poor quarterback play

The guys been head coach for 3 weeks (4 including bye). He had to go into foxboro on a short week....foxboro, where the pats have only lost 4 games in like the last 5 years....

Man, people on this site are so overly dramatic about everything. It was one game against defending super bowl champs who are undefeated in their house where they pretty much beat everyone.

from experience x's and o's is on the coordinators.
Plus what coach in this league can prepare a team in a short week and beat the pats at home. come on. i honestly do not think it matters who they were going to play. plus you cant win games when your d is on the field the entire first half. ask the texans

They did both anyway.

Yes, but the Head Coach must know the Xs and Os and give guidance where/when needed. I have no doubt Campbell will become a master. The only question is...will he improve enough
and fast enough to show it this year so that Ross can see it.

Do you truly think campbell isnt fuming over that loss? Yesterday was questionable playcalling but we didnt execute. Couldnt run the ball, Missed passes, dropped passes, turnovers, not getting off the field on 3rd and longs, missed tackles, shoddy covreage....we played pretty bad last night.

On a side note, i think ive aeen enough of jamar taylor...put bobby mccain or lippett in...taylor sucks.
