I like Hickey

I appreciate the sense of calm in which he speaks.

It's like he has an 'everything is gonna be alright' warmth about him.

Lol, I know it's odd but it's how I feel, don't judge.

Almost like his tone of voice has a soothing frequency that's easy on the ears.

I'm telling you I could fall asleep while the man is talking.

Great to hear the confidence.. Pretty positive we'll never hear the words " mother" and "Prostitute" come out of his mouth, in the same sentence anyways:up:

It's only a matter of time till half the fan base turns. People hate just to hate.

I just love the fact he's willing to work with Philbin and has already seemed to build a good rapport with the players. Ireland was too damn stubborn in his ways to try to work with anyone. I hope Hickey is a better talent evaluator than Ireland as well.

I will withold my nut hugging of Hickey until after the draft.

Thank you.

My jury is still out. He missed having a VG FA by one starter on the OL, which I believe he could have gotten by paying, and maybe overpaying a bit. That would have made the draft much easier. JMO

Lol.. Say what. :limp:

Early days but it sounds like he is working well with Joe and Dawn. He is fundamentally a player evaluation guy and he is thorough. While the media had their favorites for the GM position, we have ended up with a much lower key guy who understands what he is doing. I like what I'm hearing in terms of very thorough scouting. People like Rich McKay and Tony Dungy didn't need to come forward and say complimentary things about him, but they did.
I will be interested to see if he is risk averse or has an appetite for some bold moves. To date I would say the players acquired were pretty sensible. Cortland Finnegan he paid a fair bit, but the question is whether he is fully healthy and able to get to play like he did 2 years ago. I have actually been impressed that Hickey has been quite restrained which means that they are probably waiting for some remuneration expectations to decline.

Wharton is still available as a stop gap and he's prolly the best guard in free agency and gets cheaper every day and will be dirt cheap after the draft. Most of the top guards got around 4-5 mil a year. While that isn't crazy money, it isn't cheap. Guard is prolly the easiest position for a rookie to step in. We may even have the answer on our roster with Dallas Thomas and brenner. Didn't look great last year but new oline coach ad another year for young players can make a big difference. As long as Shelley smith works out at RG I think whoever we plug in at LG will do fine with Albert next to them and having a pro bowl center like pouncey to help is always a plus.
