There is the very real posibility that the WHOLE 2009 season will be ruined by those two rules.

There is no way that they can be fairly enforced. I don't think it's fair to keep d-linemen from trying to make sacks once they are on the ground. The other rule is just plain idi0tic. How can you make a rule against tackling with your arm or shoulder!!!!

I'm a little nervous about how watered down the games may become. Basically the refs will have even more power to shape who wins and loses which is just WRONG, they are ruining an entire season of football for everyone but Bob Kraft and Jerry Jones...:tantrum::blowup:

I heard someone mention that yesterday on a radio show.

Carson Palmer went throught the exact same thing and what did they do then?

Every off-season now it's the same. They're way to quick to try and make rule changes.

I'm surprised the comment wasn't censored by the league along with a nice fine from Goodell.

But I agree with MJD completely. I think that if you want to play in the NFL, you have to realize that you'll probably get f'ed up pretty bad sooner or later, and that if you can't deal with that, then you don't belong in the NFL. Any player that can't deal with it, in my opinion, isn't a real football player. Real football players love every moment of it, win or lose, pain or no pain.

I think the players can deal with their risk, it's the owners who don't want to risk any loss of revenue. It's all about the money just like Polamalou and many other players have stated...
