I love the optimism

There are many fin fans looking ahead to a possible playoff berth. I love it!!! I still do not believe we are in the playoffs without winning the division. With 8 games left and losses from the pats and bills on our resume' we would have to win out or maybe 7 of 8 including winning the last 3 over the jets bills and pats to have a chance.
Our team cannot score enough points and are allowing too many. I am ecstatic we beat the bengals but our defense was responsible for 9 of the 22 we scored. I think cincys d is formadable and they have proven to be a tough team. We beat them regardless of how and which of our 3 teams did what....but for the fins to be consistent winners and considered champs we really need our offense to scare the hell out of other teams and our defense to not allow more than 15 points a game on the average.
It bothers me that cincy was able to acheive so many first downs on 3rd and 5,6,7 yards. It seemed they did it at will. Our defense was tired and I do not know the time of possession but we need a ball controlled offense that can consisstently put points on the board. For the most part it was enjoyable watching the offensive game plan except that we couldn't score......what is missing for this team to find an identity and stick to a system that works???

What is missing? Consistency. That has been the problem for the past oh I dunno.......almost 20 years. The Dolphins always show flashes of greatness and then screw it up. So we need consistency. Great defense week in and week out. And we gotta convert, keep drives alive and score touchdowns instead of field goals. Maybe if we were in the NFC fighting with the cowboys for the division we'd be a shoe in. But until this team puts together a winning streak....we have to stay realistic.
