that I probably need to take back. After reading Saban's press conference transcripts he indicated there were mental errors from other players that led to Duante's need to hold the football. I gathered that routes were not run correctly and execution was not carried out on many levels. All I know is that I and many other casual observers noted he held on to the ball for a long time when he could. The whole execution situation may have been best evidenced when he pulled the ball back after it looked like he was going to throw it, only to get sacked shortly after.
None the less, I was a little too hasty on assessing the problem. That is why they have film sessions I suppose.

I commend you for your step forward to say that.

That's cool. It takes a big man to admit that he may have been too hasty or might have made a mistake. Don't worry. These are trying times for all of us Dolphins fans and I think that most of us have said things about the team or players that we've said out of anger or being outside the inner circle.

Guys, does Daunte Culpepper look confident out there on the field?

No, he doesn't look confident out there and behind this offensive line, I don't know who would be.

I don't think it's a confidence problem so much as it's an apprehension problem. He does not know which side he is going to be hit by next. I would be a little apprehensive too, after coming back from a serious knee injury like his, to be sacked 21 times in 4 games. There is only so much punishment someone can take. But he has been playing well otherwise, and keeps getting better.

The post-game press report I read didn't say anything about who was responsible for Daunte holding the ball too long. The only thing really mentioned by Saban at his post game press conference about Daunte was this:

"Daunte I thought played better today when he had the opportunity to. There are still some areas where we can improve in the passing game - guys turning in when he's thinking they're going to turn out. The timing is better, but I think we need to continue to work on that. "

That says NOTHING about him holding the ball too long. That merely addresses that the QB and the WR's are not on the same page. Here's the link. Please tell me where you got your info.

I'll tell you who would be: a QB smart enough to know that his OL sucks and has to make a quick read and throw.

Ah, thanks. That's a post-practice press conference. He DOES address Daunte's performance in the Houston game in that conference. Here's what he said:

"(On what Daunte Culpepper did in the game against Houston to make him believe he played better) – “We had several drops. We had several missed routes and connections. I also felt that he was more decisive. I think when he got sacked in this game it wasn’t a lot of fault of his own. It was either mental errors in some cases, and he didn’t have an opportunity to have a chance to do what he did, what he needed to do. I thought he was more decisive. I thought he made good decisions. Especially at the end of the game, he seemed to play extremely well and have good command over what was going on.”

(On what he thinks of Culpepper’s ability, to break away from sacks in the Houston game) – “He moved around better in the game. I think some of that’s coming back for him and hopefully it will continue to improve each week.”"

That's something positive I guess. Of course, they never blamed Fiedler either.

Here is another point brought up often. If he is out there worrying about his knee, and can't roll out, or at the very least be mobile, ESPECIALLY AS YOU GUYS POINTED OUT- BEHIND THIS OFFENSIVE LINE, then he shouldn't be out there at all. Someone please answer me this, what kind of statement do you make to the starting QB, to the team, to the entire NFL, when you are rolling out your RB to pass on the most important play of the game? Read The Art of War by Tsun Tsu fellas. Battles are lost and won way before they are ever fought. That is why teams like Houston beat us, because they can smell the fear- the blood, and they pounce.

This was a post practice news conference...

He just indicated that he was confident in his decision making and mentioned poor execution.

FINALLY someone starts a thread that doesn't say anything bad about our beloved team. I am sick of all of these fans that say the season is over and that we will win 3 games this year..... I wonder if they are the same ones from last year. I hate to see the Dfins lose but to be honest I rather see them lose then sit through 8 months of waiting to see a game again. Nice thread and credit to you for admitting your wrongs. And let us all wish for a huge win this week!! And one last thing O-LINE PLEASE BLOCK!!!
