I was able to meet Jermichael Finley today. He his good friends with an acquaintance of mine that I play in the same basketball league with. First off, the guy is a class act. There were a lot of people saying hi and shaking his hand and he made time for each of them. After the commotion died down I was able to get a little information from him. As of now he has 4 for sure visits lined up with others possibly happening. Those 4 are Minnesota, Seattle, Kansas City, and ****ing New England.

I then told him I was a Fins fan and asked him what he thought of coach Philbin. I'm paraphrasing of course but he said he was a really good guy. Said he knew his x's and o's really well and he as his players were always prepared as to what their assignments would be on game day. Said he wasn't surprised that the team didn't tank after what happened as he's always level headed.

I then told him not to sign with New England and to sign with Miami and he just gave me a laugh.

Just thought I'd share a little info on a FA that many on here would like the Fins to give a look.

His praises of Philbin ring true and it's what we've seen in two years from him. The problem is everything else which Finley doesn't talk about which results in every game Philbin coaches, regardless of opponent, coming down to key plays which frequently see us losing because of our biggest weakness (which they allowed to be exposed and didn't do enough to fix).

and how many times, over and over and over have i said this?

AGAIN, if someone, before last season started said that irelands draft would not produce one guy with any significant time on the field, that the o-line was going to be the WORST in franchise history, the qb wouldnt be able to hit the money maker wr, no run game and a HUGE scandal with racial over tones and 2 starters on the line gone. a massive power battle in the front offices that spilled down to the coaching field and then the same person tells you that we will have an 8-8 record at seasons end. bwahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!! bwahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!

YEAH!! RIGHT!! YOU WOULD LAUGH THAT PERSON OUT OF TOWN!!! i would have.

but, thats EXACTLY what happened. just as finnely said, a guy who was coached by philbin for years, he is SURPRISED the team didnt crumble under all that weight. that philbin is a stay the course guy and thats why we ended up an 8-8 record. as have said also, that is a damn fine coaching job to me. not a lot of coaches, maybe only billichek could have made that happen. but the hate on him is at critical mass!! un f-in real.

and he pointed out how detailed and prepared coach philbin always has been. and thats great, but, NO COACH, NO MATTER HOW DETAILED CAN WIN if he doesnt have talent. he can come up with all the game plans, all the i's dotted and t's crossed but if the players dont execute or they are just not talented enough, no amount of coaching can stop that.

coach philbin is a damn good coach and a good guy. the finz fans at this point do not deserve him. or dennis hickey. and i am sure we are now going to hear the haters say all about how jermichael finley sucks and he was just being sarcastic, blah-blah....... .

It hurts my brain to think you or anyone else can think all those problems you pointed out, and Philbin as HC, are some how two mutually exclusive events. It would be like saying you can't believe how good a job the president is doing amid all the VA scandal, the Obamacare diaster, Benghazi cover up, and poor economy. But you hang in there, because after the teams folds up like wet newspaper again this year with the playoffs on the line, he will be needing at least one supporter.

Thanks for sharing that....wouldn't mind him signing here at all.

Regarding all the other drama in the posts that followed...Philbin still has much to prove to me before I drink the Kool-Aid, like Tannehill, I will give him the benefit of the doubt due to the circumstance out of his control.

This will be a key year for both I believe.

After Jermichael's past relationship with Philbin, I was actually expecting Miami to be in the mix for his services, as a seam threat. We still have money up our sleeve, so it is significant that we are not in the mix. Thank you for asking the right questions. Maybe Miami just isn't prepared to take the risk of further injury to Finley. Or maybe we have sufficient confidence in the players now on the roster. We have now drafted a TE every year for the past 4 years. Or maybe we are more interested in Keller and his recovery than has been indicated.

Interested to get Hayden's reaction to Jermichael's perception of Joe knowing his x's and o's really well and being well prepared for his assignments. I am not the slightest bit surprised by what you found. Some Dolphin fans on here are too quick to write Joe off because he gives so little away in the media.

With his history with Philbin, I wonder why he hasn't been brought up here for a look-see meeting to find out at least what he's asking. He would be a nice addition to our team.

VA scandal was inherited, obamacare not a disaster, benghazi is a red herring, and the economy has steadily improved in every facet since he took office. I can't believe how good a job Obama is doing despite all the obstruction in congress. Yeah sorry, I think you just disproved your own arguement against Philbin, who didn't choose the disruptive players but has to work with the team he's given.

This is not a political forum....but you are wrong about every fact in the beginning of your post.

Thats a great analogy because its literally impossible for Obama to do a good job with the retardedness that you guys call congress.

Ireland was Philbin's congress.

Talk about drinking Koolaid. No such thing as obstruction in Congress - the Repubs are doing their job - Reread the purpose of seperation of powers of our legislative system - One of the first executive actions Obuma took recalculated unemployment - if we were using pre executive action numbers unemployment would be around 15 %. And if you think negative 1% growth last quarter is improving you better put down the pitcher of cherry or grape drink you are consuming. But then again you live in California - Jerry Brown really...again
