I went to my High School's varsity basketball game (vs. Jones) in Central florida, and Urban Meyer was there. Apparently he was there recuiting a defensive end (Jaye Howard) that also played basketball for Jones.
I searched my car for anything that he could sign and only found two of my lacrosse balls (i play lacrosse for my high school). I gave them to him and he signed them, but was really cold. I used my manners (please Mr. Meyer and thank you) and he didnt say a word to me or even look me in the eye, but i was glad he signed my lacrosse balls.
Throughout the game, he watched the game and tried to get "cozy" with Jaye Howard's parents also he must have had at least 30 calls on his cell phone. Toward the end of the game he looked really tired and bored and learned back on the bleaches like some one in a bean bag.

January 31, 2007 - Dr. Phillips 91 - Jones 73 Dr. Phillips wins their 9th consecutive game over the defending 3A State Champs. The Panthers improve their record to 17-6 with the big win over the Jones Tigers. It wasn't easy as DP had to deal with big man Jaye Howard, a University of Florida football committment. Urban Meyer was in attendance watching Jaye, but DP proved to be too much on this night. Ray Willis logged a game high 21 points. Chris Warren had 19 points, 9 assists and 4 rebounds. Justyn Watkins had 13 points and 8 rebounds. Aeramis Harris had 9 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Makenson Joseph had 7 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Lamel Hamberg had 7 points and 5 rebounds. Taylor Larson had 5 points and 4 rebounds. Tyron Louis and Damani Cade each chipped in 3 points in the win. DP never trailed but the game was close throughout the first half. The Panthers went to the lockeroom with a 40-36 halftime lead, but DP turned it up a notch in the 3rd quarter outscoring Jones by 10 in the quarter to stretch the lead to 14 at the end of the third quarter. The Panthers played everyone in the 4th quarter and cruised to the win. The win is the Panthers 9th in a row. DP hosts Evans on Friday at 7:30 pm. It is Senior Night so make sure to come out and support the Panthers, especially the Seniors (Chris Warren, Taylor Larson, Aeramis Harris, and Larry Webb) in their last regular season home matchup.
