We lost to the Houston Texans... to Houston! The worst team in the league!!!
Man, what the hell--
Houston!
Blame Culpepper if you like. But anytime your QB is on the NFL's leader board I'm not so sure he's the problem.
Blame the offensive line. They can't pass protect or run block.
Blame Mularkey. I'll re-watch the game later this week after the emotional scars have healed a little bit. But my first impression is that most of the drives were killed by dropped passes, sacks, and stuffing the run behind the line of scrimmage. I don't see how play-calling can fix that.
Blame Ronnie Brown. He had 12 carries for 49 yards. But guess what? He had 111 total yards.
Blame Saban. He clearly made a mistake by not drafting an offensive linemen in the 1st round. He could have picked up a safety as good or better than Jason Allen in the 3rd round. But then, hindsight is 20/20.
Blame Houck. His line has given up an entire season's worth of sacks in just 4 games!
Blame our blitz package. Half the time we blitz, the QB burns us for a big pass play. Yet, whenever we're blitzed, it causes mayhem.
Blame Will Allen for giving up 2 huge plays in the second half. But then give him credit for playing like a man possessed in the first half.
Blame our offense for putting our defense on the field for too long. Except the time of possession was pretty close. We held the ball for 26:05 while Houston held the ball for 33:55. If your defense can't play for 34 minutes, I think you've got a problem.
Blame Ricky Williams. If he wasn't busy failing drug tests and playing ball up in Canada, he might have scored a couple of TDs for the Fins. But then, he hasn't done much up in Canada, has he?
Blame the fans for booing. Except we weren't playing at home this week. And, in fact, hardly got booed at all this week.
Blame Welker. Why? I don't know. Because there's nobody left to blame. By the way, Welker is the heart and soul of this team right now.
As for myself, I don't know who to blame. I'm baffled. We were supposed to be a good team this year. We were supposed to improve upon a 9-7 record from last year.
Well, I ain't giving up hope until that 7th loss. I can't help it. I'm a die hard fan.
But I will say... At this point, the only thing that makes the last 4 weeks right is a win at New England next week.
