I have heard that COUCH should be released by the doctors one day next week. What team do you guys think he will end up with?

I hope it is with you guys because I've always liked the FINS. and of course he could come in and be a starter by week 6.

Thanks and Good Luck this Season.

doubtful he could be a starter this season joining the team so late. Most of the practice time with the 1st string will by necessity be given to Gus. It would however allow Saban to see where Couch is at physically, mentally, and talent wise. If Couch shows any of the skills that made him a #1 overall pick then it could drastically alter our draft strategy next year.

I'd still pick a Qb if Couch showed promise. Dear God I hope we pick 6 Qb's next year. Find me a damn QB now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, welcome Kyfan. I'm not usually this jumpy but our QB situation...well you know.

I would rather pick up O'Sullivan if he is cut

Couch is no better than Gus

I think Couch is going to come back from his injury better than ever. I talked to his brother Greg the other day and they say for the first time since college he is throwing without pain with a distance of about 60 yds. He was thrown into hell in Cleveland and was never respected. Whoever takes him will become a better team.

My Tim Couch prediction: ridiculous crank it up delivery, below average arm.

Don't need Ken Jennings to provide the correct answer on this one. Couch will be what he always was. This was even simpler than evaluating Larry Chester last week: fat and slow.

Not respected? Come on. I was in Cleveland for a few weeks that summer and they all but had Couch in the Hall of Fame. In fact, the Browns played in the Hall of Fame Game that year and the sideline was giddy when Couch completed a looping 20 yarder down the right sideline. They had a mike on the bench and players were insisting he would be an immediate Pro Bowler. Then Tim Couch became Tim Couch. His reputation and name recognition exceed his ability by more than virtually any player in football history. I chart stats and without looking it up I know Couch never threatened 7 yards per attempt over a season. He was always a rank subpar 6.5 type guy. His arm and delivery virtually exclude anything higher than that. Granted, he still might be better than A.J. Feeley.

I know the stats were not very good there. BUT tell me who he had to throw the ball too who he had to hand the ball off too and also you have to say the way his offense line was he was lucky to still be alive. Now I'm not saying he will ever be a Dan Marino I just want someone to give him a chance . SO he can play in a game with a great offensive line a awesome running back and some good recievers.

Like I said Im a dolphins fan and I would love to see a KY boy from down the road have a chance in a great football town.

seeing as how AJ is now our 3rd stringer....cut AJ, and sign Tim Couch. Or better yet, i still say sign Jon Kitna.

I'm not a Couch fan, but he is probably worth a low risk gamble with high upside. You are not out much if it doesn't work out. Feeley and his 2006 3.5 million are probably gone sometime before next year anyway.

Maybe, maybe not. The majority of us said no one can be worst than Fiedler. Look what happened

Actually, unless Feeley hangs around for 5 years of this, I'd say he was better than Fiedler. Fiedler was just good enough to hang on and damn near kill me. At least if Feeley totally craps out by year's end, he has inflicted less pain overall. Mind you, Fielder had a lot of help from Wanny inflicting that suffering.
