I plead total ignorance!

Can someone please give me an easy explanation as how to post a link of an article? I have for a long time never really concerned myself with posting a link and let everyone else do it so i didnt have to waste time but now i want to post links and i must be the stupidest person on earth in this regard.

I tried copying an article from this site or others but its not hyperlinked and on the new thread thing i dont understand manage attachments cus it has to be uploaded.

Copy and paste the URL from the address bar of your browser.

Put the link on its own line, and it will automatically be parsed into a live link.

You can also copy and paste a few lines of the article, but please limit it to that.

9 times out of 10, if you're reading the page you want to copy, you can just highlight what's in the navigation bar at the top of your browser (Internet Explorer), right-click, choose "Copy".

From there, go to the page you want to post on, right-click in the message box, and choose "Paste".

Type text you would like to hyperlink, then highlight the text and press the hyperlink button. A JAva script window will come up where you insert the web address then viola your linked up..

god i really am stupid. i knew about copy and pasting but i didnt think it worked properly for links to whole articles cus i tried something but it didnt work or it was not hyperlinked and was just a bunch of scribbly letters like RI did.
