That the dolphins are going to run the same offense from last year. Daunte should have no problems adjusting to Scott's old playbook. Really Finfans, what's the deal?I have not seen this at all.(I AM NOT saying this is all Daunte's fault)....

I think its Mularkey trying to emulate Linehan's System....which is giving problems with the offense in general...

There's no emulation going on. We're running Linehan's system, period.

The controversy over Mularkey is whether or not he's calling the right plays at the right time. Mularkey certainly hasn't shown the opportunistic play-calling that Linehan used.

I am starting to think they are mixing the playbooks up but Mularkey is running his much more than Linehans.

In all fairness, between the offensive line, Daunte, and the recieving corps we haven't had much of a chance to be opportunistic. The offense is failing on all fronts, and it's definitely a team effort they're putting in to being rotten.

Were all beating our heads against a wall on this one.

Seriously there are so many issues with this offense it really is hard to determine how much of one area is more of a problem than another.

It's a mix of OL, Mularkey and Culpepper all wrapped into one IMO.

People like to say that Daunte still has to adjust to a system. What SYSTEM?!?

The same one he has always used? Imagine how bad he would be if we implemented a new system?

That's what i'm thinking.I guess i was looking for some insight from others. To think,SOME of these concerns should have been fixed before the Texans game. It's hard to see their identity.

I don't think it's system related or necessarily Mularkey - though he's had some rough spots.

First, Daunte just isn't reading the receivers and hitting the open man. Part of the problem is that he's not playing his normal game - which includes scrambling - b/c of his knee. He's very slowed. He hasn't fully adjusted to the being a pure pocket passer as he never was.

Second, the Oline problems are making Culpepper even less comfortable and confident.

The biggest problem right now, is keeping confident, working hard and letting it come together. I really believe that all the skill position players would be fine at some point and that C-Pep can get to a point where he is playing very well - but, it will be slowed and may not happen b/c the O-line is SO bad and may never come around.

I agree with ya,but if they don't get their act together (this week or next) the division and the playoffs could be in jeopardy.

I think they kept the same terminology with Mularkey's philosophy. I'm not certain that's the same "system".

On INSIDE THE NFL, Marino said that all offenses are basically the same. You're running the ball up the middle or outside. You're throwing it long or short. You're running screen passes and/or pulling the Guard. Football is football.

It's mostly a matter of verbage that separates the offenses around the league.

He was over-simplying a bit to make a point, but I think he's right.

i think it is mularky trying hard NOT to run
linehans offense WITH a qb who has just
plain LOST IT!!

predictable offense+bum legged, slow moving,
ball holding qb and there ya have it!!

thanx again nick!! we luv ya!!

I'll get all ticked off at Mularkey when he starts playing Wannyball - calling runs on 3rd and 18, thinking of the punt as an offensive weapon, and having the offense put up a pick 6 every game. So far, I think MM has been calling decent games, given the situations the guys on the field have put themselves in.

its linehans system, but Mularkeys plays. We really don't even do Linehans system bc our playbook is now short passes, screens, dump-offs, reverses, trick plays, and running up the middle, which was exactly what his plays were in pittsburg
