Everyone is talking about how we should be thinking about trading Ricky. Why would you trade Ricky and not Lamar? Ricky is Proven that he is and can be a premier back. Lamar is just a average/below average back. Stop the Trade Ricky Threads and lets keep the good Talent here instead of possibly faccing Ricky on the opponents squad.

It's true.... get rid of lamar and pay ricky his money.... plus whatever Minors making when we cut him as well

yep. agree. Gordon wont get us much but we need stability this season. Ricky stays IMO. I dont see how we can get shot of Ricky when Brown is just coming in.

I agree. I've always both supported Ricky and been a huge fan. I think Lamar and/or Minor have about as much value to another team as RickyRicky is here for the long haul. I have a feeling he is playing for Saban or noone.

We're not trading Ricky....

I'm not sure where all of these rumors are coming from, but they're all bugus...

Saban wants Ricky in Miami, and Ricky wants to play for Saban. There's really nothing more to it than that as far as I'm concerned....

PHINZ RULE!!!

the only caveat to trading Gordon is worth and value. what are you going to get for him? surely not a 3rd like we gave up. In his time here since his value was higher with the Rams, he has gotten injured and underperformed. NO one is going to give us a 3rd for him. we'd be lucky to get a 5th at this point.

Our best bet is to wait until the season gets started, and trade him when another team is desperate and capitalize on the circumstances (much like the Rams did to us).

The reason all the threads are "Trade Ricky" threads is because, exactly like you said, Gordon has proven thus far to be no good. Any NFL scout knows what we know plus more, so there is little chance we could get anything useful for Gordon. For Ricky, we actually may be able to get something.

The one thing I have been thinking lately is that if we do trade Ricky, our "depth" at runningback disappears fairly fast. I don't know if Gordon even makes the team, and Morris and Minor are backup runningbacks. If Brown proves he can't handle the load his first year we may be in trouble. For that reason, unless we can get a lot for Ricky, I think he's worth more to us being here than in a trade.

Unless some team has a few mishaps with their own RB's like us. All of a sudden a 6th rounder can turn into a 5th or 4th if they are desperate enough. It's not like these guys aren't talented

Lamar should be gone by the final week of pre-season, and minor will follow. Obviously Ricky WILL have more trade value, but only at the end of the year. He is too valuable to us right now. He is ahead of Ronnie on the learning curve, and plays for vet minimum.

Keep Ricky trade Gordon, Minor, Lee, Thompson, and Moore if any one is willing

thats what i said. read my last sentences. Trading Gordon wouldn't yield us anything unless we find a team with a depleted RB core due to injuries after the regular season starts.

then we can exploit that and get a higher pick for Gordon, much like the Rams did to us.

or we could move morris to fullback, the thing is right now, no one wants a guy who doesnt have over 10 yards in 2 pre-season games

The only thing I disagree with is that I think Ricky will be awesome. But by the way other coaches, players and media talk about him; I don't think he'll ever have his true value. And will always be more valuable to us.
