I been a fan for years and looks like the same ole problem, lack of a running game, r brown runs hard but doesnt look like a break out back, another john avery????
I hope I am wrong??

also, the secondary looks weak at times, hands to the face penalty cost us getting the ball back,.Lehan sucks

Name one back in the league that can run effectively with no blocking from the offensive line, TEs and WRs.

Ronnie is fine, we never got the Steelers to back of the line and they ate him up.

Ronnie was either rountinely getting hit behind or line, or running up to the line only to find that there is no hole. How many times did he have to cut back, spin, reverse etc. That should tell you something

Trust me, Ronnie's a good breakaway running back. He has the 235 lb. size to run up the middle and the sub 4.4 speed to take it the distance. What you need to realize is that Pittsburgh is one of THE best teams in the NFL at stopping the running game and we don't really have a top notch offensive line ... not yet anyway.

Everyone's hoping that our highly regarded Coach Houck can get the OL playing well as a unit, playing with quickness and toughness, etc. It looks like we have a few weak links on the line. If anyone can get our running game going, it's Coach Houck. We need it in order to open up the passing game.

To beat teams like the Steelers, you need to have flexible tactics and beat them in several ways ... passing AND running ... gotta have BOTH to keep them guessing. It's going to take the WHOLE OFFENSE playing at their highest levels to beat teams like Pittsburgh ...from Benny Anderson in the trenches to Daunte to Chris Chambers.

They had Chambers locked down for most of the game ...I didn't expect that. When they do, we need to pull out another equally effective weapon like Booker, Hagan, or McMichael ... or Ronnie on short passes. In short, EVERYONE on the team needs to bring their "A game" in order to beat teams like the Steelers. Any weak links will be taken advantage of. It takes a WHOLE TEAM playing well, not just a few guys like Daunte, Ronnie and Chambers.

Even Barry looked bad in the few playoff games Detroit was in during his years there.

Why? So you can blame all the offensive problems on Bennie Anderson?

this is VERY true. Even when we were passing, they still weren't backing off. it was a rare sight actually.

Now Ronnie is being compared to John Avery? :shakeno: In what way? The only way they are the same, is they both have 5 letters in their last name.
