I know one of the hot topics of conversation over the years here at finheaven concerns Ronnie and whether or not he's as good as some think. It seems you either love him, or just don't think he's as good as advertised. Personally, I like him alot and hope he can be re-signed. Now, on to my point.

When you consider how he ran the ball in the 1st quarter yesterday, I can't believe we got away from using him. He had 9 carries yesterday on the first drive of the game. But then he had 9 carries the rest of the game???! Its not like the game was out of hand until late so we didn't need to be in a panic "throw every down" mode. I like Ricky and its nice to have guys like Cobbs as an option as well. But when you see multiple swing/screen pass type plays being thrown to Polite you just wonder why this is happening. Ronnie does not get utilized enough in the passing game either and he without a doubt has the best hands of any offensive player we have. I understand he fumbled yesterday in a key spot, but I really hope thats not the reason he wasn't used as much outside of that first drive. I'm not claiming Ronnie to be AP...so don't misunderstand the point here.

I'm simply saying considering what we have to work with on offense and that Pennington is not a deep threat....Henne is bascially like a rookie starting out. He's the best offensive weapon we have overall. And the wildcat, when he is running it, picks up nice chunks of yards seemingly every time its used. Why not use the crap out of Ronnie?

I know how we should've used Ronnie....as trade bait.

Ronnie is a FA after this year and although we could tag him, or better yet, tag-n-trade him, we should've traded him this past offseason. There's no way we're gonna give him the huge long term deal he will be looking for. That deal will need to be one of the richest for a RB in the league and will carry him into his 30s. No way we're paying that for a RB who has barely been above average - and not even much better than our 32 year old retired stoner Ricky Willaims.

Ronnie should've been moved for one of Marshall, Bowe or Boldin before the draft. All 3 of those teams needed RB help and all 3 of those guys were/are on the block. Ms. Ginn could've been thrown into the deal if needed.

I respect your opinion, but that really has nothing to do with my point. Ronnie is a Miami Dolphin right now. I'm not gonna speculate on whether or not he should have been traded or even if they definitely should re-sign him and at what cost.

The point I was trying to make is I don't think he is utilized enough and he's our best overall offensive weapon.

I agree, he had 60 yards in the 1st quarter pretty much, but then disapeared. Hardly got any calls. Ricky did fine, but wasn't dominating like Ronnie was. Ronnie even proved to be the best reciever on the field yesterday with that long catch on the sideline.
Where did he go? He was hardly on the field in the second half.

its kind of hard to use him more when were always in catch up mode. though i never have seen the hurry up offense yet. also i think ronnie should line up as a wr , he is by far our best wr.

But the game was tied at 3 late in the 3rd quarter. We even took a 6-3 at one point.

So it wasn't like we had to pass the ball every down like late in the game.

we were too worried about getting henne adjusted instead of continuing to cram the ball down their throats with r and r

Let's not forget that if next year is uncapped, and it's looking like that will be the case, Ronnie will not be a free agent after this season.

Actually I rather see Ronnie and Ricky line up at receiver...at least they can catch...and Ronnie can catch even going to the ground..

nah i really think we will re-sign ronnie brown this year this year proves of what he can do for us with the wildcat and how he runs he basically puts us in the game regardless of who we play... we need to re-sign him

who fault is that

With Pennington out now, using Ronnie is going to be essential to help keep the weight of the world off Henne's shoulders.

I have always thought we don't use him enough through the air. He should be catching 60-65 balls a year...

Obviously he should also be getting no less than 20 carries a game either....

Ronnie had 18 carries for 75 yards with a 4.2 average.

Ricky had 8 carries for 55 yards with a 6.9 average.
