I know one of the hot topics of conversation over the years here at finheaven concerns Ronnie and whether or not he's as good as some think. It seems you either love him, or just don't think he's as good as advertised. Personally, I like him alot and hope he can be re-signed. Now, on to my point.
When you consider how he ran the ball in the 1st quarter yesterday, I can't believe we got away from using him. He had 9 carries yesterday on the first drive of the game. But then he had 9 carries the rest of the game???! Its not like the game was out of hand until late so we didn't need to be in a panic "throw every down" mode. I like Ricky and its nice to have guys like Cobbs as an option as well. But when you see multiple swing/screen pass type plays being thrown to Polite you just wonder why this is happening. Ronnie does not get utilized enough in the passing game either and he without a doubt has the best hands of any offensive player we have. I understand he fumbled yesterday in a key spot, but I really hope thats not the reason he wasn't used as much outside of that first drive. I'm not claiming Ronnie to be AP...so don't misunderstand the point here.
I'm simply saying considering what we have to work with on offense and that Pennington is not a deep threat....Henne is bascially like a rookie starting out. He's the best offensive weapon we have overall. And the wildcat, when he is running it, picks up nice chunks of yards seemingly every time its used. Why not use the crap out of Ronnie?
