He's got nothing to lose.

He's a freak of nature. - Bo Jackson, Earl Campbell, Walter Peyton kind of freak of nature.

He may have landed in an amazing situation with Parcels saying the right kinds of things, like OJ Anderson was MVP of the Superbowl at 34 years of age. Ricky and BP have positive chemistry.

Coach is an offensive line guy.

Our OL will be big and there top function will be to run block.

Ronnie, likely won't be available at the level we have grown accustomed to with him leaving the door wide open for Ricky. That means Ricky can start slow and put the pieces back together before he has real competition for playing time.

Ricky attracted a ton of negative vibes from the real die-hard faithful on this site. They were not wrong. Ricky behaved in a way that must trouble any person who resonated with the feelings of team.

His behavior had a real silver lining for Dolphin fans. He expedited this team's demise and he has lived to be part of its resurrection. That in and of itself is AMAZING.

Now I am predicting that he is going to be a big part of our recreation.

Do not doubt it for a second: Ricky has the ability and know how to be the best back in this league and he may have enough time left to re-write the history books.

This is a huge exageration...hey...by all means, (especially if your in my league), if you wanna draft Ricky 10 overall in your fantasy draft, go ahead.

Don't expect anything out of somebody who has already planned out his retirement.

Ricky has natural talent and he is back to his 2002 weight. We didnt have the best o-line in 2002. It should be much better for the run this year. He is a beast again! He will be very productive for us.

If he does have a great season...put him down as the comeback player of the year award winner.

As long as he can hold onto the ball. When teams play against him they always try to slip that ball and they seem to succeed way too often.

No doubt Ricky has something left in the tank. But he isn't going to be the second coming of Earl Campbell. But I do see our offense becoming the second coming of our 72' offense. 3 yards and a pile of dust. Until the opposing defense can't hold up any longer ...

if we could get about 800 yards from ricky we will be unstoppable figure another 1300 from ronnie on the ground alone i am pretty sure ronnie will have a combined 2000 this year

I hope your right. I am afraid that he is gonna favor his injury in the beginning until he gains confidence in it. So that will slow him down a bit. 2000 would be nice though.

Lets just hope its not another another muscle he ends up tearing up

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ricky lead the team in rushing this year. It usually takes two years for a RB to recover from an ACL injury so Ronnie might start the season a little slow. Ricky seems like he is in great shape, I'm excited to see what he can bring to the table this year.

I've got a feeling I've read this same thread for the past 6 preseasons.

Your skepticism is justified.

This is why I think Ricky has an edge up on most fans and NFL enthusiasts. If he does well he is seen as very special. If he does nothing the "I told you so crowd" like yourself wins the day.

People mix up talent or flow with function.

Function is the stuff that makes up a person's character. Ricky seems to be a decent person with character limitations (which we all have) and his functional issues are larger than life because he is in the public spotlight.

Athletes, artists, and all others who excel in a creative fashion are in their flow.

A guy can be an incredible athlete and a personal wreck. Think of OJ Simpson, or Diego Maradona, or Pacman Jones, or most of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fans of the Dolphins are so angry at Ricky that they are mixed up about function and flow.

If Ricky explodes and is tearing up the Jets and the Bills and the Patriots believe you me Dolfans will be falling all over themselves singing this guys praises to the hilt. And those that hold onto their bitter feeling of the past will be excoriated for their vengeful feelings.

So get on the wagon, drink the cool aid and get on down here to Jonestown where Ricky is absolutely a BEAST!

Can't hurt to be optimistic. I will certainly be happy if he tears it up. I would not put money down on it, but I still hope you are right.

 Classic!

That's the problem with Ricky, HOF talent and too much strangeness going upstairs to let him capitalize on it. I hope he can keep it together for the next couple of years, he is fun to watch on the field.
