I think Vontae Comes through huge tonight...

We are looking for a player to step now that Ronnie is out. I think Vontae is our guy. He should he has the skills to matchup against big time WRs. He did very well against Moss, except for a couple plays. But the one long pass down to the 1 yard line was a perfectly thrown ball and Moss's size advantage was too much for Vontae. I think he out does Steve Smith with physical play and comes up with another pick that will change the game. What do you think??
 
He might have a great game and he might have a pick (w/ Jake Delhomme playing he might have 8)......but there is no way he is going to be more physical than Steve Smith.
 
I like Smith matching up with Mushin. One thing about our rookie corners, they've definitely seen some of the best receivers in the league already in Moss, Owens, Colston...who have I left out? I don't think Vincent Jackson played in the SD game?

Vontae is about as physical a corner I have seen in a long time. It is my prediction he shows the world that tonight.

and I am not implying he isn't physical......but in all the years Smith has been in Carolina no CB has been able to push him around and be more physical. You can stop Smith....but nobody lines up and is more physical imo. If a CB tries to get too aggressive w/ Smitty it normally gets them beat.

Carolina only runs 2 WRs 99% of the time. I'd double Smitty and leave Moose one on one.....a good aggressive CB will have any easier time imo b/c Jake will throw to Moose even when clearly not open in single coverage.
 
Steve Smith usually lines up on Sean Smith's side and Moose on Vonte's side. And we all know that Sporano doesn't switch them around.
 
I don't know how good Steve Smith still is but remember that game with them back when Satan was coaching? Holy crap did he rip the Dolphins apart. 200 yards or so. That guy is (or atleast was) quick. Vontae can't make any mistakes.

This QB struggles a lot so this could be a good chance for Vontae to get another pick 6:up:
 
The defense in general are do for and big turnaround. Hopefully PORTER can do something other than run his big mouth and play like he is pay ridiculously for.
 
I hope he does jake hasnt had a real bad game in like 3 games. So if we can shut down the Runninggame then i think we can win this.
