The more I read all of these threads the more deppressed I get. Guys, we all need to take a deep breath and relax! To all of you who have been negative
since free agency began anyway! Lets see what has happened since free agency began on Friday, a few minor signings here and there and then Buffalo overpaying for a guard only to see two of there best defensive players leave for big money and Cleveland overpay for a guard. I look at the bright side and think I am happy to see Buffalo overspend and lose out on Dolphin Killer Nate Clements and LB London Fletcher! Guys wee need to give Cameron And Mueller time to be SMART with our cap dollars! There are still plenty of guys out there who can help this team at the right price!

By the way this has to be one of the worst free agent classes in a few years so why overspend! Lets get real guys and this hurts to say since I bleed aqua and orange, we have many holes to fill, O-line, linebacker, secondary,
widereceiver, and even QB if Daunte cannot comeback Healthy. The Wandstach and Dick Saban era's truely set this organization back a few years. It will take time to fix and overspnding for a guard, or paying Nate Clements $80 mil will not cure all our Ills!

I am out.......... :dolphins:

That's a great point you make. Despite landing two decent linemen they are losing two big players on their defense, and I felt that their strong point last year was their defense. I'm also hearing rumors about Takeo Spikes being on the trade block, so hopefully we'll see a drop down in the production of their defense.

Amen, a sense of sanity. We will have plenty of time to assess and complain within the next several days. Lets wait and see what happens after the first rush to overpay is over. Most teams in the NFL are sitting back and waiting for the first tier to be over paid. I will most interested to see what happens in the next six days. This will tell me if the Phins have a plan or not.

What, are you crazy. The sky is falling. I think we should pay 50 mil for an OK Guard or 80+ mil for a CB. Just kidding! It's actually nice to hear from someone with some common sense. We need to weather this storm of insanity of overspending on a VERY thin f/a class. Let everyone blow their cap on players. We'll get some later on in f/a that makes sense dollar-wise and address more via the draft. We blow all our money on one/two big f/a's this year and we'll be in cap hell for the next 5 years. Let's have some patience folks!

I don't know that Saban set the organization back. He did clean out Wanny's mistakes. He was just too risk averse & indecisive to get the franchise in the right direction. Blame that on his Napoleon complex/ego.

This is a less than stellar FA class. I would have love to have seen A. Thomas sign with the phins. He said he wanted to play someplace warm... nothing like good old tropical Foxborough.

Some thought when Colvin went to NE that would ensure their dynasty... it did not... darn.

Personally, I was hoping for Dielman but once the precedence was set with Steinbach and Dockery, well you know.

Bryan Thomas of the Jets (OLB/DE) and Kevin Curtis may be the best Miami can do, but, will be better in the long run than throwing crazy amounts of cash @ players who are not as good as what they are getting.

Excess and greed are funny things. Give me value and prudence anyday. I think Mueller and Cam feel the same way.

I hated Saban, but did like SOME of his moves. Bringing cheaper vets to shield the growth of young talent was a wise move. He did in the coaching ranks and player ranks.

Here's my problem: He never played the young guys when he could have.

Cleo should have started at least 4 games. Vickerson, Evans, Allen, Alabi, Hagan and others should have been baptised by fire during the last 4 - 5 games. Nick never gave us a chance to evaluate the youth on the team. Cutting Joe Berger was a complete moranic move. And here we are.... gutting, with only 6 picks.... and trolling the free agent bargain bin again.

If the 2007 draft is underwhelming.... the fans will not see much to hope for. Even when building... you've got to feel you are competitive.

The funny thing is here ther was no way we were keeping Nate....80 Mil reasons why he was gone.

Second Fletch does not fit a cover 2 def so he was let to walk.

TKO was never on the Field last year well almost never and was outplayed by Ellison and Crowell both still on the team

And bottom line contracts are going up because of the cap going up Hutch set the value last year with 49 mil so that is what the top players in that position will get. Steinbech 49 mil, Dockery (number 3 Guard) 49 Mil Deilman when he signs will be around 49 mil.

Also with trading McGahee (rumor) you may just see the next Buff RB taken next year at 12 welcome to Buf Marshawn Lynch.

While I understand why you guys couldn't keep some the players mentioned above, you kind of shot all that by signing some avg linemen at some pretty high-priced contracts. I thought you'd guys would have addressed those positions with some middle round draft picks rather than shelling out money you had just saved. We obviously will be mainly concentrating on the draft to address our needs, but I have no idea what Buffalo is doing at this point. Maybe there's a method to your team's madness, but I don't see it right now.

Clements was a difference maker that comes along once in a decade for a team that drafts such a player. $80M, while it sounds like a lot, is Champ Bailey money, $10/year. The advantage he gave your defense in the AFC East is not easily replaced. In my opinion... you let a great player walk, for free. THAT was not a good move, regardless of the money.

Dangling McGahee is understandable... but I think the bigger issue is the end result of your McGahee/Losman draft picks. The Bills invested a lot in those 2 picks. And, to let Willis sit for one year.... makes this move even more difficult for your organization to swallow. I'm not saying sitting Willis was the wrong thing.. in face I think it was right... but to give up so quick on him now... shows that draft to be nearly failed. I think overall, it just sets you back a few years to blow up that part of the experiment now... when it's apparent Losman isn't going to work out either.

These moves together... don't signal much hope for the immediate future. It would appear you've decided to scrap the last build and start over too.

As a fan... it sucks. I feel for ya.
